Zoey was frozen in a state of shock. With rock climbing and swimming and other outdoor sports she'd trained herself to be a clutch player, to not go to pieces in the middle of a crisis, to work calmly and get things done... but once it was all over and the adrenaline was out of her system, it'd hit her just what had happened and she'd shut down, which was what was happening now. She'd lost control of her own body. How could Danielle do that? If she'd hurt them... There was nothing she could've done about it. One minute she was herself and the next she hadn't been.

When Ryan touched her she jumped a little and turned to look at him. "Yeah." She replied, but it was immediately obvious Zoey was a terrible liar. "I'm... I'm ok."

He wasn't. "There were plenty of people who died before we even got there. We were lucky." Ryan watched the activity that was going on on the ship instead of her.
