As he passed Kat's room, he saw a cliff of ice rising from inside the room where her door was standing open. In the few seconds he was watching her saw her skid toward the wall with a powerful momentum and up the curve. But the curve turned too sharply for her to cleanly slide over and she hit the wall before her body fell to the ground with a thud that made the ice crack. She slid a ways across it still before her momentum finally ran out and she lay still.
After a moment she groaned and started to push herself up, gritting her teeth in pain. Sitting up, with one hand she held the arm she'd landed on, and with the other she began to fill in the cracks in her ice.

"Hey Ryan." Kat said when he spoke, looking back at him. "I can't, if I make it shorter I won't have enough time to make the landing ramp right and I'll get hurt when I land."

"I do not know about not get any better, but I thought she might have picked it up so quickly due to experience adapting with many other types of powers before. They did say she used to be on a superhero team before us, that implies there were super-villains to fight in her time."

Ryan nodded, sighing. "Yeah... I'm just not really sure what to do with the training time, unless I do combat training, since I think mostly my power is just automatic."

"Maybe it is, but even still your reactions could be measured and predicted and controlled." Kat replied. "I would suggest testing the scope of the ability and exact reactions. After all, some situation could be adapted out of in several ways, and it would be useful to note which your body will choose beforehand."
