Xander felt uncomfortable, like he was intruding on a private family matter. Why did Ben hate Adam so much? He seemed like a perfectly nice guy to Xander.

"Okay, thanks Adam." Xander was surprised at how oblivious she seemed to the tension between her husband and brother. Maybe she just ignored it, but she didn't seem the type.
Isobel served the food after Adam setthe table. "Eat up, everyone."

"It's a little ways out of his way," Ben said. "Otherwise, I think with that offer, he might come every night for your dinners." Ben had finished his spaghetti, so he wrapped his arms around Isobel.
