The next week or so passed swiftly. It was eerily quiet and Xander hardly seemed to notice the time going by. But Ben surely did because a week later, they finally got to the day Isobel and Adam were coming home.

Ben had been packing all morning, since he'd woken before Xander. Though he'd mentioned that Isobel and Adam would be home now, he'd never really spoken to Xander about his plans. When he'd packed up all his stuff and cleared the camp as well as he could, he waited for Xander to wake up.

It was predictably sudden. His eyes flashed open ad he jerked upwards quickly as he awoke from the nightmare, but he didn't cry out. He saw Ben was already up and had cleaned up camp. "Oh... morning Ben. You're up earlier than usual."

Ben smiled. "Yeah. You'll love her, I'm sure. I can't wait to see her again." He looked so perfectly happy to be heading to see his family.

It was rare to see his friend this happy, and Xander nodded. Anything that put Ben in a good mood was fine by him. "Alright, lead the way then! Sounds like fun."

Ben led the way, keeping his pace brisk as he headed towards the city, and then towards the house where they were living. He realized the garden had probably died from his neglect, though with his luck with plants they probably would have anyway.

Isobel had just returned home when they got there and was helping Adam bring in the bags. She was tanned from the bright sunlight and grinning from ear to ear. he only minor issue was a burn on her face, a day or two old thatspread from her cheek down the side of her neck. She didn't immediately notice Bens arrival. "Adam, you don't need to make another trip, I've got the last of the bags," She called.

"Alright, I'll start putting stuff away," Adam responded, moving farther into the house.
Ben paused on the sidewalk for a moment to just look at his little sister, grinning from ear to ear. Then he hurried up and hugged her from behind.

"Eep!" Isobel let out a high pitched cry of terror when she was suddenly and unexpectedly grabbed from behind. She tried to pull away and put up her well manicured hands in defense, even though Ben knew even if there'd really been an assailant, she'd never use the power her hands threatened.
