[Raven]

"It's just me," Ben said, hugging her tightly. "I missed you."
Adam came running out when he heard Isobel squeak, only to see Ben and some other man there. He sighed.

[Gifted]

"Ben!" Isobel sighed. "Don't scare me like that!" She hugged him tightly. "I'm not even home ten minutes..." She laughed. "What did you do to my poor flowers?" She teased. "You were supposed to be watching the house! The poor things are drowning in weeds."

[Raven]

"What weeds? I just see flowers," Ben said, grinning. "Isobel, this is Xander Xavier - the guy who helped me rescue you from the government."

[Gifted]

Xander waved at the girl. Isobel smiled. Nice to meet you." She shook the boys hand. "I owe you a lot."
"It was nothing. I'm glad to help." Xander smiled a genuine smile at her. "It's nice to meet you too. I hear a lot about you from this guy," He nudged Ben playfully.

[Raven]

Adam inserted himself on Isobel's other side. "Adam," he greeted. "It's nice to meet you."
Ben ignored his brother-in-law. "I've mostly been staying with Xander while you've been gone - sorry I forgot about the flowers."

[Gifted]

"Nice to meet you as well." Xander nodded.
"Oh it's okay Ben... I can always plant new ones." Isobel replied. "We're just unpacking, but if you two want to stay a bit I'll be making lunch soon."

[Raven]

"That sounds wonderful," Ben said, then glanced at Xander. "I think we have time."

[Gifted]

"Sure." He wasn't about to pass up the offer of real food. And Ben's sister did seem really sweet.
"Alright. Come on inside! We just finished bringing in the last of our bags." Isobel headed up the steps and into her house.

[Raven]

Adam stayed with her, Ben fell behind, even though he clearly wanted to stay with Isobel forever. "So what are you making?" Ben asked Isobel.

[Gifted]

"I haven't decided yet. I want to stay away from Mexican food for awhile though." She laughed. "Maybe a pasta..."

[Raven]

"Spaghettiiiii," Adam said, grinning.
Ben glanced at Xander again. "My sister's the best cook in the world."

[Gifted]

Isobel giggled. "Thanks Ben."
"I'll bet she is." Xander replied. Spaghetti sounded great.
"Alright, if that's what you guys want, then spaghetti it is!" Isobel agreed.
Xander went to find a washroom to wash his hands and face, since this was both the only time he'd had that luxury in awhile and probably the right thing to do if he was going to sit down to a proper meal. He did have to admit they seemed really happy here. Isobel seemed like almost a different person than the girl he'd seen ever so briefly after they'd rescued her from the government so long ago. She radiated a happiness that pulled others in and helped them be happy as well. Xander was genuinely smiling today and he hadn't since the others had died. But she was oblivious to how much danger she was in. To the fact that it wasn't over. As nice as it was to be in a house and feel human for once, this ought to be a reminder of why he chose not to have these luxuries. Why he needed to be out there. Because this was all a lie. A comforting lie the government was telling these people that they only couldn't see through because they didn't want too Xander felt sorry for her. When the veil was lifted, when the government started killing them again, it'd hurt her so much worse than if she'd never had this momentary peace at all.

[Raven]

After Xander left the bathroom, Adam was waiting there. He'd left Ben with Isobel. "You were a fighter on our side, weren't you?" he asked. "Ben has mentioned you." Ben had done more than that to Isobel, but he still didn't care to talk to Adam.

[Gifted]

"Yes." Xander nodded. "I went by Hangman." He chose not to mention that he was still out there. He wasn't hiding it, exactly, but at the same time he didn't really want to have a conversation about why. He already knew what they'd say.

[Raven]

"What is it you do now?"
