Xander laughed. "I wish. Thanks for the offer though. Do you need some help washing up?"
"No, it's fine, I can do it."

[Raven]

Adam took all the dishes to the sink.
"Weren't you telling me you had to get going around one?" Ben asked, motioning at the clock.

[Gifted]

Xander was grateful for the tactful way to leave. He didn't want to get Isobel and Adam in trouble by being here. "Oh is it one already?" She looked at the clock. "Oh, yeah, I need to go. But thank you so much for the meal, it was amazing."
"Don't mention it. You're welcome around here anytime." Isobel replied.
"Thanks. I guess I'll see you all when I see you, then."
"Bye, Xander!"
"Later,"

[Raven]

"Good luck at work, Xander," Ben said, not wanting to let Isobel know what it was Xander was spending his time doing.

[Gifted]

"Thanks. I'll see you around." Xander waved and headed out the door. He was on his own again, but that was ok. He had to get stronger and he couldn't be using Ben as a crutch. He'd throw all his effort into training, and get Sharie back.

[Raven]

"How was your trip?" Ben asked Isobel. "Did you get any good pictures?" He didn't actually care about pictures, but he would give any reason for Isobel to relive what he understood to be a very happy time.

[Gifted]

"Yeah, we took a bunch. It was so beautiful Ben, the ocean stretched for miles and just sparkled and there were palm trees growing all around and white marble statues... we saw iguanas! Just wandering through the garden paths at the hotel! Real iguanas!"

[Raven]

Ben grinned. "I've heard they're big, is it true?" he asked. He'd missed Isobel more than he'd even known.

[Gifted]

"Yeah, they were huge! We saw other lizards too, but they were tiny. And we went snorkeling in a reef, it was so pretty!"

[Raven]

"Did you see any cool fish?" Ben asked.
Adam started to wash off the table.

[Gifted]

"Yeah, there were so many! Bright and colourful and everywhere! It was so cute!"

[Raven]

"That's great, Isobel. I'm glad you had a good time." Ben wrapped his arms around her.

[Gifted]

"Me too," Isobel replied.

Xander spent the next several weeks operating the same way he had with Ben. His speed in dealing with agents was increasing, and after all this time he felt he was actually getting stronger again. About time.
