Xander nodded and Rakel actually smiled. "Yeah, that sounds fine." Leia agreed.

"There are a few things I want to ask about already. Firstly... Vivian, how did she come to join up?" I wasn't going to kick her out if she was being reasonably helpful, or even just not hurtful, especially since we'd then loose Victor, too.

"She's on one of Gods lists." Rakel replied. "That means if any of Gods men find her they'll haul her back to the castle where she'll be executed, unless it's Jacob who finds her because he's the only one allowed to kill on sight. She goes anywhere else, she and her brother will be slaughtered. We offered them escape from Gods relentless pursuit if they help us, and we'll kick her out and she'll be dead within the week if she does something we don't like."
Leia smirked. "It's hilarious seeing Vivian backed into a corner like that. But Victor doesn't mind."

I nodded, and didn't object. "And Trace?"

"What's wrong with her? She's been a friendly for ages." Leia replied with a frown.
"Plus it's not as though her power's particularly threatening." Xander mentioned.

[Raven]

"How long is ages?" I questioned. "Did she ever leave during that time? I know people, remember? She's getting to be older."

"I only knew her briefly, but I used to know people who knew her for many years. I actually think she's mostly over here because she's pissed off at them." Leia replied. "At least one of them is pretty close to God."
"She's good at routing out Gods spies too. Why is her age a problem?" Rakel asked.

"After a certain age, Kelsey goes crazy and stabs the guy she's been living with for several years fourteen times," I said. "Of course, with things going crazy as they are, it's very possible that she was never used by this man, betrayed by her friends, and that this won't happen. I only know what's supposed to happen..." I hesitated. "Leia, is one of the people she's pissed off at your good stepmother?"

"Yes." Leia nodded. "She's not the one with God though, her other daughter is. Joan Wenkeling."
"Why do we care about some guy she was living with?" Xander asked. "Is he here? Is she a danger to one of our fighters?"

Joan. And Nicholas was here. Was it the corresponding Nicholas. "No, he's not. If he was, I would advise we imprison him immediately. But she could potentially be a danger to everyone. She's manipulative, and can become very violent. It's hard to stab someone, and it's not necessary to stab them that many times. For at least the last half, he was already dead... Just be careful with her, keep it in mind. Don't tell anyone else, as we don't need a panic on our hands. If it seems she'll become a direct threat, we'll take action... The third issue. Nicholas Wenkeling is imprisoned here."

"Yeah, and?" Rakel asked.

"I would like to know why," I said. "And why he appears to be in such poor condition."

"Okay, the condition he's in is not our fault." Rakel snapped. "He refuses. To Eat. I've gone in and tried to talk to him about her, and he tell me to leave him alone. We bring him normal amounts of food three times a day and he barely eats any of it. He is depressed and it is not our fault he looks like that."

"I understand. Why is he locked up? What are is it you're trying to talk to him about?"

"That traitorous bitch Joan, of course." Rakel replied.
"He is locked up because we intercepted a letter from God herself addressed to him, inviting him to the palace." Leia explained. "God was practically begging him to come. Said she had some highly important and sensitive information for him, offered him a place with her and expressed a desire he come immediately. Nicholas is a dual power user, with a firm grasp of the water element and control over his telekinetic ability unparalleled by any other telekinetic we are aware of. We thought it was best to remove such a powerful potential enemy from the battle."
