"Sure, but it ain't much help if she possesses you." Xander replied.

[Raven]

"Well it's not like you've told us how to avoid that," Ryan said. "But there's not a whole lot I can do in a battle."

[Gifted]

"That's because there really isn't a way." Xander said. "Theoretically it can be dodged, but you can't dodge what you can't see. The only real consolation is she probably won't bother."

[Raven]

"Dodged?" Ryan questioned.

[Gifted]

"It has to do with the way she takes control of you, she does have to aim. But you can't see where she's aiming, you just gotta guess. Like I said, it probably won't come up much. Maybe the first couple times, for information. After that she won't bother."

[Raven]

"How does she aim?"

[Gifted]

"It don't matter, you can't see it. She doesn't use her eyes to aim."

[Raven]

"I want to know," Ryan growled.

[Gifted]

"Wouldn't we all!" Xander snapped. "It's some kind of possession thing, I don't know, kid! Like I said, other than maybe the first couple of times, you don't have to worry about her possessing you anyway, just a bunch of innocent bystanders."

[Raven]

"Oh yeah, because that should make me so much better. The best guess of a man who hasn't even seen her for three years is that she probably won't bother with us after she knows everything about us. In this case, I'm inclined to agree with Aaric. We don't know anything about fighting and you're sending us in to handle someone you won't send your trained professionals after. And you're doubtful we can do it."

[Gifted]

"Kid, she won't possess you because possessing people with powers opens up one of her major weaknesses. Trust me. She wouldn't risk it."

[Raven]

"And when were you going to tell us that?" Ryan's voice was calm.

[Gifted]

"When you asked." Xander said, glaring. He stepped forward. "Kid, this may come as a surprise to you but being a superhero isn't just about beating up the bad guy. Sometimes something is going to happen that you didn't know was possible, or you will need to gather information about the how or the why or where she might possibly be hiding. You're never going to be able to do that if you don't learn to ask the right questions.
And that's a lesson it's a hell of a lot safer you learn from your belligerent asshole manager now than out in the field later."

Ryan thought about that a moment, and nodded. "What's her weakness?"

"See, when she takes control of regular people she can take as many as she wants, she controls them the way you'd play with marionettes on strings. Fortunately for us, she can't do it that way on people with powers. Don't know why. She has an alternate method, though. She can possess you. Possession has its advantages for her, she can see everything that's in your head while she's in there, so she may try it the first couple times purely as an information collecting technique, but she can only possess a single body at a time. Not a single other person, understand: A single body. Her own will pass out and lay on the ground until she returns to it. Harming her body will still hurt her while she's possessing someone else."
