If she did, she would feel much more comfortable doing this, even if the girl only had a sixty percent chance. It was a mystery to her at which exact point age became an issue. She looked hard at Zoey, intending to guess just how mature she was, but instead she saw how nervous the girl was. Numbers and statistics weren't helping. She smiled and squeezed her hand. "You should be fine, Zoey. There might be a few complications, but nothing we can't handle. At the very worst, your power won't develop and you'll have to help some other way, if you still want to."

Zoey smiled. "Okay... okay... I'm being silly aren't I?" She giggled nervously.

[Raven]

"Not at all, it's completely understandable to be nervous, but it is unwarranted. When you're ready to start, we're going to inject you with a bit of anesthetic."

"Ok. Of course. Definitely." Zoey nodded. "Um... and when I wake up my power will work, right? Like I'll know if everything went okay?"

"It should. There have been some cases when a limiter appears or the power doesn't develop immediately. If it would make you feel better, I'll leave you a note to let you know."

Zoey nodded vigorously. "Okay... just... just tell me what you want me to do."

"Alright. Can you roll up your sleeves for me?" Nikola asked, filling her syringe with the anesthetic to prep it for Zoey.

Zoey did so, though she was shaking a little. "Is this good? Oh... sorry." She giggled nervously again when she realized she was shaking and used her other arm to try to hold hers still.

Nikola gently held her arm still and injected her with the solution. "Let me know if there's anything I can do to make you more comfortable," she said.

"Thanks, but I..." Zoey yawned as the anesthetic began to work. "I'm fine..." She drifted off to sleep despite her nervousness.

Nikola sighed and began the operation. There were a few more difficulties than made her comfortable, but in the end, Zoey was safe and with a power, and Nikola went to finally work on Ryan. Zoey had taken longer than she had expected, and Nikola wondered how long Xander's meeting would take. He had said to call him, though, so Nikola did just that as she walked down the hall towards Ryan's door.

Xander answered. "Xavier."

"Sir, I've finished with Kailen and Zoey, I'm heading over to get started on Ryan's operation. You said to call when I was finishing up the last one."

"I'll be right down." Xander replied. He hung up and turned to the screens where his superiors were watching him expectantly. "You assigned me to manage your project. Now I've got to go do my job. 'Scuse me." He hung up on them too, and went down to see Nikola.

Nikola was just getting ready to inject Ryan when Xander came down. Ryan looked at him, not appearing to care whether or not he was about to be stabbed in the elbow crease. "Hello," he greeted, not sure who it was who he was talking for.
