"All right." Kat rolled up her sleeve to let Nikola inject whatever she wanted. If she was worried about it, it was impossible to tell by her face. "Go ahead then."

Nikola injected her arm, then bandaged it up. "We'll get started once that kicks in. Remember, this has been done before. Everything will be okay, Kat." She smiled comfortingly.

Kat nodded. "Of course. I'll be fine." She felt the drowsiness coming on and let herself fall asleep, hoping it would hasten the process and so she wouldn't cause trouble for the scientist.

Kat's power did give them a little more trouble than Aaric's had, but it went through without any major complications. She would wake up in a hardly-furnished room, but on a bed all the same. Nikola contacted Xander again. "Katiyana will be fine. We successfully grafted her power, though it was more difficult."

"Alright. She seems like a competent enough girl from what I've read. How about number three?"
Katiyana awoke and sat up quickly. Were they finished? She held out her hand and tried to activate her power, resulting and an icy snowflake forming and falling into her palm. It was so pretty. She loved it. She cupped her hands together and on her command they filled with water, ice cold and refreshing as she drank it. This was impossible. And yet this power was hers. She grinned to herself. She was a superhero now. She wondered what interesting and impossible things her teammates could do.

"Kailen Belacqua. He's the sound manipulator. I'm headed there now."
Kailen was waiting in his own respective room, his ear buds in despite the fact that he was sitting in a government building. He tapped his fingers and mouthed, "I can rude my bike with no handlebars," pretending to not be nervous. He'd been waiting for long enough to imagine just about every possible way something could go wrong.

Xander nodded and suddenly his phone buzzed. "It's the suits," He spat with annoyed contempt for them when he said it. He'd never bothered to hide his disdain for the higher-ups. "Just call me down when you're about to finish the last person, I gotta deal with this."

"Will do." Nikola entered the room. "Hello Kailen." Kailen hurried to take his ear buds out so he could hear her. "Are you ready?" Kailen nodded, not daring to speak in case his voice shook. "Alright, we're going to anesthetize you so you don't feel the pain. So far the two before you have had no complications. Will you pull up your sleeve?" She filled the syringe on the table. Kailen had never been frightened by needles, but as she did that, he felt an almost overwhelming urge to run. But he didn't. He simply pulled up his sleeve and held his arm out for her to inject. His hands squeezed into fists, and he didn't hear her suggestion to relax. Then he felt a numb feeling begin to come over him and he laid back and passed out.

Meanwhile the forth subject, an athletic girl named Zoey, sat in her room and fidgeted. She'd agreed to do this without her parents permission, and had been cleared for it only because yesterday was her 18th birthday, making her technically a legal adult and not needing her parents to sign off on the agreement. Her mother would be livid if she found out, and if anything went wrong and Zoey was hut, her parents would know what happened for sure...

Nikola entered, looking at the one adult subject. She wasn't going to kid herself, she was worried about this one. Girls developed more quickly than boys and if she'd gotten to close to the breech, there would be complications. "Hello. Zoey, right? I'm Nikola, the doctor in charge of overseeing the operations."
