Jeremy glared up at her defiantly, but couldn't bring himself to say anything.

"Well boy?" Mrs. Hawthorn said, her voice stern.

Jeremy didn't even open his mouth. However, his uncle had noticed something was up. "What did he do?" Martin asked, putting his hand on Jeremy's shoulder.

Mrs. Hawthorn composed herself as she saw the man take the boys shoulder. "Nezzera. Tell the man." Nezzera looked up, drying her eyes with the back of her hands. "I was just looking at an owl and.. He hit me to the ground. I thought it was an accident but... but then he just yells at me. I just- I don't know," She hid her face into her mother's side and held onto her tight. Mrs. Hawthorn looked to the man and said "I think my daughter feels that she deserves an apology,"

"Probably because she does," Martin said, looking down Jeremy with a frown. Jeremy looked at the ground and muttered, "Sorry." He pulled away from his uncle and went to another part of the store. Martin sighed. "I am terribly sorry about him, he's been acting up recently. He won't bother you again."

Mrs. Hawthorn nodded. "Just be sure to talk to him. That's what helped my oldest when he was at this stage." Nezzera let go of her mother and walked slowly back up to the large owl. "Mother? This is the one," Her voice was still shaking but the tears were now gone. Her mother nodded and enchanted the birds cage over to the employee counter, getting him ready for check out.

Martin went to his nephew. There was a short exchange which was too quiet for anyone else to hear, which ended in Jeremy pulling away from him and going to look at the cats again. "Jeremy, you're getting an owl, remember? We haven't got all day..."
Despite Nadine Black's wish for her son to get an owl, Jeremy had insisted he would use the school's and gotten a spotted grey kitten. He'd also gotten a hand-me-down wand from his grandfather and he was using it to pet the little creature through the bars in its cage as he didn't listen to his uncle. They got to the barrier, and though Martin said 'wait', Jeremiah didn't listen. He was on platform 9 and 3/4 and lost in the crowd in an instant.

Nezzera sat on top or her suit case that rested on her cart, sneaking treats into her owls cages. Next to her was the rest of the Hawthorn family. Her older brother and cousin who were already attending along with the three youngest girls. Riley was whining about not being able to leave while Augusta was being scorned for taking a lizard from a stranger. Nezzera rolled her eyes, wanting nothing more then to get away from the craziness that existed in the Hawthorn family.

Jeremy pushed his cart fairly close to the train, then started to transfer his things into the carriage. Frost went first, and his suitcase he tried to bring last. However, it was heavy and he had a difficult time getting it up the steps.

Nezzera rolled her eyes and stood up, preparing to load her trunk onto the train. She wasn't the first in the family to go to Hogwarts so by this time her family had figured out ways to make the trip smoother. One of those were the feather weight charm, which her father applied to each trunk to help the children. Nezzera made it to the train and loaded up her supplies before running with her arms wrapped around her owls cage. When she got to the train she found her way to an empty compartment. Most of the students were still making goodbyes, but that wasn't Nezzera. Being raised by a father who believed that "Children should be seen not heard," Nezzera developed the belief that adults should be used not trusted. With that attitude, she didn't see the point of a goodbye.

Jeremiah was one of the last people on the train, and as he searched virtually the whole thing as the train took off, he found most of the compartments full. Until he came to Nezzera's. He seriously considered just sitting in the hall or in the bathrooms, but his kitten mewed and he slid the door open. "Everywhere else is full," he said moodily.

Nezzera looked up to see the boy from Diagon Alley. She went to grab her wand but stopped herself, trying to control her anger. She blinked a couple times. "Did you get in any trouble?"

Jeremy put his things down. "For accidentally knocking you over? Of course I did, the way you spoke to my uncle."

For the first time, Nezzera smiled in front of Jeremy. It wasn't a happy smile but a twisted one. If she had been older, wiser, she wouldn't have exposed herself like this but to this boy, she didn't see him as a threat. "I guess you should have just said sorry to begin with, shouldn't have you?"

"I shouldn't've said it at all," Jeremy spat back, taking his kitten out of the kennel he kept her in.
