As they walked, Violet couldn't help but notice the soft imprints on the ground. They looked like they belonged to a giant reptile. Vickas' dog sniffed about the prints, and shrunk away from them. Jay had his sword at the ready, keeping an eye on their surroundings.

I drew my rapier, doing my best to not make a sound. "What caused those? A dragon or something?" I asked quietly, gesturing at the prints with my right hand.

Vickas figured they belonged to some sort of large reptile, resembling a crocodile.
Jay peered down at the prints, and frowned. "Dragon," he stated, swords drawn. "I suggest we find a second animal quickly, as we do not have the numbers to fight one, at the moment."

A rabbit peeked its head out of a bush as Vickas came near. Its eyes grew wide with fear before darting away. Vickas' dog instinctively ran after it, into the forest... and towards wherever the dragon was going.

Realizing what I'd done, I quickly dropped his hand. I was about to look in a different area when the dog ran off. I looked up, alarmed. "We have to hurry... Before the dog gets hurt," I said, starting after it as quietly as I could.

Vickas managed to climb well up a nearby tree, while Violet crept stealthily through the undergrowth, Jay not too far behind. Vickas saw a lot of trees--a forest of them, in fact. Eventually, he got to the top of the tree, and could see the entire forest. A grove of infected trees bordered a putrid swamp not too far off, in the general direction of the dragon tracks.
