5th Level!
3.5!
Prestige classes are good!
So's multiclassing!
Assume 8,000 gp worth of starting equipment!
I'm the DM, so bug me if you have any questions. |D We'll start once everyone posts their characters. Try to make your information somewhat organized so it's not a jumbled mess of numbers and abilities and modifiers.
In order to roll dice (THANKS SAR!), click on the die icon in the menu with the bold and italic and such icons. It should look like {dice=6} but with brackets. If you're rolling a d6, keep it with the six. If you're rolling something else, replace six with the number of sides. A d20 roll would be {dice=20}. You can also add to the value by going {dice=X+Y}, where X is the amount of sides and Y is the modifier.
[dice=1+2]

Violet was adopted at a young age. From that point on, the raptorian lived with humans. She took violin lessons, but eventually settled on playing the viola. She also learned a bit of piano, harp, and piccolo. She often sang as well, but preferred playing only. Later, she took on the art of swordplay. Her weapon of choice was a rapier, as it reminded her of a violin bow. She also enjoyed reading, but would much rather be socializing or playing than sitting in silence with a novel. No matter her activity, Violet tied her long, blonde hair back with a ribbon. Her adopted parents got her many beautiful ribbons, but her favorite was the violet one. She became a very rounded lady, but she wanted more of an adventure, like the ones she always read of. By this time, she was about 12. And so, the girl with blonde hair, violet eyes, black wings, and a violet ribbon started looking for a way to escape.
Later on, she became atuned to the art of theiving. By that time, she ran away; into the trees. She became more and more adept at her survival abilities and lost touch with some of her more sophisticated crafts. At 14, she started conning people. That was a year before our story begins. Now, at 15, Violet is about to find her most exciting adventure yet.
Alignment: Chaotic nutral.

Vickas Arroway's birth was shadowed by the fact his mother didn't remember conception. Vickas Arroway grew up in a forested area. he was raised by his parents in a frontier town. Vickas Arroway's family is noble, defensively weak, focused in its intent, and respected by the community. Vickas Arroway had a worryless childhood. Vickas Arroway applied to the army but failed the initiation ritual. Vickas Arroway's closest friend is Kevkas Darksbane the Bard who introduced him to being a bard after failing. Vickas soon decided to become a fighter and go adventuring, however he never forgot the bardic studies he took under Kevkas' care. His somewhat chaotic nature is most likely the reason he did not pass his initiation ritual, and he seems to think that rules don't apply to him.
about 5'8 green eyes, shoulder length dark brown hair.15. Loves to play pranks. Paranoid and checks stuff often.
Vickas hopes to become a great adventurer, his failing earlier in life only helped to inspire him more. He's not quite a hero however and seems to dwell more in the gray zone. Chaotic neutral.

Teak. It's a very small town dependent on agriculture, next to a gigantic forest. Many of its inhabitants are farmers, and cultivate the rich surrounding area. Cattle and other livestock are commonly seen wandering across the dirt road that leads up to the town. A tavern, called Muddy Swine, is the main attraction of the town. Its primary patrons are farmers, with the occasionally adventurer and, extremely rarely, elf from the nearby forest.
At the moment, the sun is setting, and the Muddy Swine is at its busiest. The tall, round barkeep is chatting it up with the patrons. What are you up to?

I, Violet Rowansmith, sat in a corner alone, an untouched tankard of rum in front of me. I watched the other patrons with keen eyes. I was determining when I could best slip people's coin purses from their belts. Strangly, I had no worry for my own purse. It wasn't in it's traditional place on my belt, but hidden safely on my person, where no one could find it without my realizing. I wore my armor and held my sword hilt with my left hand, as I am left handed. Most nights I spent my time here, and I never left without more than I'd come with. The life of a rogue. Some might call it the life of a cheat, but I have to get by just as much as they do, do I not? Regardless, we merely have different methods of achieving the same goal: survival. That is everyone's main goal, to survive and reproduce are the strongest instincts. Why is it, then, that some children grow up never knowing their parents? Should not the strongest instinct after reproduction be to protect that small life you have created?

Ducking into the nearby Tavern I glanced around, I was new in town but I was somewhat known and perhaps a few knew of me. My name was Vickas Arroway, but most would know me as Vickas the Bard. I wasn't solely a bard though, I was also fairly experienced as a fighter and was capable enough to defend myself if I needed to. Noticing the various other patrons I sat myself down in the nearest empty seat. It had been pretty tame lately for me...perhaps a bar room brawl would fix that. I ordered a drink and silently thought about the best way to go about my buisiness.

My eyes focused on the newest arrival to the pub. He wore chainmail, which made him much more conspicuous. As I studdied him, I got the feeling I should know him from somewhere, but I ignored it. My thoughts were still troubled by the questions I often thought of. One held dominence whenever I did think such things: where were my real parents?

A few of the patrons were unnerved by the presence of the raptoran; it looked exactly like them, a normal human, but it had... wings. Black wings. Big, black wings. There was obviously a reason she was sitting alone. A few worried glances were cast her way, and a prayer to Pelor was muttered, but other than that, they payed no mind to her.
As soon as the bard entered, a cheer came from the bar. "Hey, that's... that's the bard from last night!" one of the obviously drunker ones called. "Play a song!" another demanded. A chant of "Song, song, song" erupted across the bar, while the patrons at the table simply rolled their eyes and continued their business.
While most eyes were focused on the shouting group at the bar, a cloaked figure shambled into the bar, and slid into a seat. Its small frame shivered violently.

I smiled and raised my hands," Okay, okay. However it seems I misplaced my flute. No worries though!" I quickly spoke a few words of magic and my flute appeared in my hands. I placed the flute to my lips and began to play a simple song for the crowd.

I tilted my head. A bard? Hmmm... Maybe that's where I knew him from. I had been to many musical performances in my lifetime. For some reason, I doubted it.

The bar patrons cheered, and clinked their tankards against one and other's, toasting to their health, the bard's health, and everyone else's health. The barkeep rolled his eyes, and leaned on the wooden bar.
"Bard," he called, his voice rough, "why don't you carry that around with you instead of magicking it everywhere? It'd be much simpler, uh-huh?"
A tavern wench walked up to the cloaked stranger, holding a large serving plate under her arm. She was taking his order as normal when he broke into a nasty coughing fit. The wench made a disgusted face, and daintily ran back to the kitchen. The stranger shuddered, and stared down at the table.

I stopped playing long enough to speak to the man," Simple, It's more fun this way, now if you'll excuse me I believe I was in the middle of a song." I continued playing and kept my eye on the man.

I glanced around upon hearing the coughing. I zeroed in on the cloaked someone, my eyes narrow. If that wasn't suspitious, I didn't know what was.

The barkeep smirked. One patron shushed him with a clumsily waved hand, and he returned to cleaning tankards. Once the bard finished, they clapped, some with less dexterity than others. "You's a good fluter," one said, smiling. The others agreed with varying amounts of sobriety.
The stranger looked up; it could feel someone looking at it. It shuddered as it turned its head and looked at the raptoran. It was an emaciated elf, judging by the face, with sunken eyes and pale skin. He (the features weren't feminine) simply looked back with a sorrowful expression.

I stood and walked over to the strange elf. My black wings fluttered slightly as I moved, the feathers adjusting to avoid uncomfort. "Hello," I murmured, sitting near him. I smiled calmingly.
