I bowed to the patrons and left my flute unattended, it would soon dissipate and I was the only who could play it anyways. I turned to my drink and began drinking it. I skeptically checked all of my possessions and counted the coins in my pouch. Having my possessions stolen was probably the thing I hated most. Content with his materials I quickly finished my drink and examined everyone again. The ale wasn't very good or strong but I didn't want to bother wasting my magic on it.

The elf looked up, acknowledging the raptoran, and quickly looked back down at the table. His hood slipped off, revealing not long, golden locks as elves had, but strands of dirty brown hair. It looked like a haircut gone terribly, horribly wrong, with literally no hair in some places and plenty in others. He swiftly pulled the hood back up, and turned his gaze to the raptoran. He spoke very softly, hard for even the raptoran to try to hear.

I attempted to hear what he was trying to say, figuring that information would be all I would get from him. I would rob the drunkards later. [dice=20+10][rand=200860115331985559718172372810633571027317060627716323356723710042]

( [dice=20+1] ) I noticed a raptoran speaking with someone and tried to see if Icould pick up anything.[rand=45061450183211316882697901541174770882041839563249942354420660247]

The raptoran could hear the elf; his voice was very quiet, but she could make out a few words in Common. "Force," "others," and "this disease" were among the words she could. The bard could tell the stranger was saying something, but he couldn't hear anything.

Giving up I shifted slightly in my chair, maybe I could ask the raptoran about it later.

I leaned closer. "I didn't quite catch that," I said. This sounded interesting.

The elf jumped up, knocking his chair to the ground. He lunged closer to the raptoran, thrusting his face in hers. A couple nearby patrons turned their heads to watch the spectacle, including the barkeep.
"I-it's not my fault!" he screamed. Obviously, someone had lost their marbles. "They f-forced me out of there, they did! They did, th-they did! I-I-I can't go back, now that I'm exiled! I'm o-one of the disease bearers! I-i-it's not c-contagious... You believe me, right?" The elf moved closer to the raptoran, if that was even possible. Tears were streaming down his face. "Right? R-r-right? RIGHT?!"
By now, the entire tavern had gone silent--with the exception of the rowdy group at the bar, who were singing songs as if nothing had happened.

I placed my head on my chin, I could definitely hear him now, what did he just say? something about a disease bearer? I think I may have heard something about that before. ( Roll for bardic knowledge [dice=20+1] )[rand=0827723433899090233794563375557120280311032168796278882625293319424]

I blinked, tensing. My wings spread slightly. "I believe you. I would like to help you, if you would be so kind as to tell me how," I told him calmly.

Shrugging, I couldn't remember if I did know anything. I started wondering if I should attempt to get a little extra money but decided against it for now.

"He's one of them infected elves!" shouted the barkeep, drowning out the raptoran's voice, "Get the guard!" The tavern patrons scattered like intoxicated ants, pushing and shoving to go out the front door. Cries of "Guards! Guards!" echoed from outside. A few brave (actually, unconscious) folks remained in the tavern, not among them the barkeeper, who had fled out the back door.
"Y-y-you can't HELP!" shouted the elf, stamping his foot. The cloak slid off of his thin frame and onto the floor, revealing a pale, emaciated figure. Its flesh was missing in sporadic patches, revealing raw, rotten muscle. Opening its mouth to reveal sharp teeth, it lunged at the raptoran, trying to bite it.

Watching as the figure revealed itself and lunged toward the raptoran I decided to help. ( initiative roll [dice=20+2] )[rand=21795481220404755932577214880930173555583785980578642256292639766]
