Persecuted and Over-Powered

"Bleeding slowly is still bleeding." Stephanie bit her lip. She wanted to help, but her hands were stuck. She tried to at least examine the wounds to determine if it was something that needed immediate medical attention or could be left for awhile. She'd been made to watch Flare torture a few times, so she knew some injuries that could be left for awhile for torture purposes.

[Raven]

Katrina was right in that she would be alright for a while. The injuries weren't bad, though eventually they would cause harm. "I'll be okay for now. They'll send someone before I get too bad."

[Gifted]

"Theyre not going to let us die in these cells, then?"

[Raven]

"If we die, it won't be in these cells. It will be on the table," Katrina responded.
Kailen shuddered.

[Gifted]

Stephanie tensed, looking around nervously. "Have you ever seen anyone escape before?"

[Raven]

"No," Katrina responded. "I've heard rumors... But the punishment if they catch you..." She hunched over slightly, looking horrified by the thought.

[Gifted]

Stephanie wanted to comfort her, but she wasn't sure how. "How long have you been here?" She asked

[Raven]

"I'm not sure," Katrina responded honestly. "A month?"

[Gifted]

Stephanie nodded. This place was freaking her out. It felt darker and darker every minute she was in here. Wait, was she imagining that? "Do they dim the lights at night or something?" She asked, staring out the plexiglass cell door.All the lights still seemed to be on, but she was certain it was darker. But maybe she was just getting worried and paranoid...

[Raven]

Katrina shook her head. "No..."
"It's not night, anyway," Kailen pointed out.

[Gifted]

"Yeah.... Maybe I'm just seeing things." Stephanie sighed, but she continued staring out at the lighted hallway. She didn't think it was her imagination.

[Raven]

Kailen looked out as well. "It does look darker," he agreed after a moment.
Katrina stood up, but stayed at the back of the cell.

[Gifted]

As they watched, the light seemed to make strange patters on the wall, long thin shadows intertwining with each other, curling around corners, pressing into cracks in the wall-
Those cracks were not there before. "I'm not seeing things, Get down!" Stephanie turned away and covered her head.

The walls buckled inward; the doors of the cells began to crack and then shattered with a tremendous noise. Bits of the ceiling were falling dangerously.

Kailen turned as soon as Stephanie said, and hunching his shoulders as the glass began to crack.
Katrina yelped, turning away as the glass shattered and exploded, though she could do nothing to cover her face as she was showered with glass.
This was not normal.

[Gifted]

Stephanie looked back and saw some of the other gifteds in cells already making a break for it. "We've got to go before the building comes down!" She shouted over the deafening noise, trying to make it out of the cell and down the hall. "You guys know the way out of here?!"
