"Probably no more dangerous than using it regularly," Kailen said. "Anyway, I should head back to my place. Do you guys want to come?" He knew that Stephanie would, she was living with him and his parents now, so the invitation really only extended to Monique.

Monique elated at the invitation but quickly regained her cool. "Now? Sure! Just let me tell my parents." She pulled out her phone, turned it on, frowned at it for a half second, sent a quick text, turned it off, and repocketed it. "Alright, let's go!"

"Awesome! Let's go!" Stephanie agreed. "Kailen's got a promise to keep." She teased, recalling his offer to let her stay with him. She actually did plan on taking that offer if his parents were nice enough.

"I'll be happy to," Kailen agreed, and led them back to his place.
Adam looked up when they entered and smiled. "Hey, Stephanie. Kailen, who's your other friend?"
"This is Monique, we go to school together," Kailen filled in.

Monique smiled and waved sheepishly, saying nothing. Afterwards, she stared at her shoes and clasped her hands behind her back.

Adam chuckled. "Well, thank you, Stephanie. Anyway, Isobel will be making dinner later. Until then you can head up to Kailen's room - it's big enough you shouldn't have any problems, and he's got a TV up there," he said, adding the last bit for Monique's benefit.

They all headed up to Kailens room to play videogames and have fun.
It was an hour or two later when they heard Isobel's voice call up the stairs. "Kids, dinner's ready!"

Adam was the first to the kitchen. "It smells wonderful."
Kailen got up, stretching as he paused the game. "Monique, you'll love my mom's cooking. She's the best."

"Oh, then I guess I could have a little." Monique grinned but flinched when her stomach growled with surprising volume. Aside from a donut that morning, Monique hadn't eaten a thing, and the smell from the kitchen was getting to her.

Isobel had brought out a large home-cooked lasagna for everybody and pt it in the middle of the table. "Please, you three, help yourselves." She told them. She had a TV on in the background tuned to the news. Stephanie tried to ignore it, not really wanting to know anymore.

Resisting the urge to eat straight from the source, Monique served herself a sizable helping. She glanced at the TV, frowned, then started eating.
