Stephanie paused halfway up the tree. "Aw Monique, way to ruin the surprise! It's no fun if you see it coming." She sat on the tree branch, upset.

Monique blushed. "Oh! I'm sorry. I-I didn't know. I was just guessing." She smiled pleadingly up at Stephanie. "It'll still be really cool, even if it's not a surprise."

"Ugh. Fine. Stand back in case I hit the ground." She got to her feet on the branch.
A fierce wind swept through the area. It blew towards the tree at an angle, creating a strong updraft at the base. It grew stronger and stronger until they were in danger of being blown over by the wind. Then, Stephanie took a deep breath, held her arms out to her sides, and jumped out of the tree.
The wind held her in the air, several feet above the ground, but it took all her effort just to keep herself there. Her fists clenched, gritting her teeth, Stephanie tried to maintain her position high in the air. But she was upset and distracted, and after fifteen seconds she lost her grip and fell, landing hard on her feet and gasping for breath.

Amidst the spectacle and the raging wind, Monique actually had been blown right over, but was quickly to her feet when Stephanie landed. "What do you mean 'wasn't that impressive?' That was incredible! You actually flew!"
