[Raven]

"Yeah, she must be planning to let her people know to invade right now, and she'll set the one person who can tell if people who want to kill us enter the building right next to her," I said. "She clearly doesn't believe Kenny is the good one, Lynn is the one person who could tell if Kenny meant to cause harm to her, even if Lynn were brainwashed."

"Well, if you don't want to do it, fine," Francis said.
Erin looked at Vivian, anxious about Joan taking command.

Vivian sighed, grateful Francis hadn't pressed any further. She didn't want to be responsible for anyone these people ended up killing. She'd so carefully avoided it herself, and she already felt like she was going to be a party to it just by being here. But the only one who seemed hesitant to kill was Erin. She glanced at Erin, and found Erin was looking at her. Ugh, why did being good have to be so complicated. Maybe this was a 'justifiable' reason for murder? She never understood this whole dumb morality thing, she didn't get the nuance. Would leading them and letting them kill still be breaking her promise to her brother?

Xander rolled his eyes. "If you always assume the best of them you're going to get duped." He shook his head and went to ask Lynn.

[Raven]

"I'm not assuming the best," I objected, but I sat down since Xander had gone off. Kenny sat in the corner of the little cell, his head down. How had he messed this up so badly?

"Fine, congrats on the team leader position, Joan. You must be the youngest leader the government's got," Francis said, and sat down. Erin looked worried, and Mercy rolled her eyes.

[Gifted]

"I'm also one of the best field agents, and been here longer than most of the current agents, so if you're done being a dick about me because of my age, let's work out a plan." Joan said.

Xander went and found Lynn. "Hey, can you do guard duty for a bit? We captured the girl who was leading the government group and have her locked up with Kenny up there. She doesn't look like she should be a problem but you know, just in case."

[Raven]

"Yeah, no problem," Lynn agreed. "I'll head right down."

[Gifted]

"Thanks." Xander nodded and went off to do who knew what.

Joan worked with the others to lay out a plan of attack. She stuck to the basic framework I'd always seemed to like despite not entirely understanding why I liked it: Vivian and Victor in first, then Francis dropped at a high place to intercept the stronger fighters with his sniper rifle, Erin and Mariah covering the majority in a second wave. If those four got in trouble Joan was deployed to help get them out of there and Mercy deployed to ensure that the objective was accomplished on her own. Sure, it played to everyone's strengths but there were other ways to do that. Still, she did not want to mess things up, so she deviated very little - except of course, that they would now be fighting "firstly to get our objective of the info and our leader back. If that means you need to kill to get by them, kill. No more holding back."

[Raven]

Lynn was downstairs not long after. "Hey, I can take it from here," she said.
"Satisfied?" I asked of Gifted.

"Sounds good. Some of us are returning to our roots," Francis said. He seemed more guarded than he ever had, and pitched in very little. Erin had withdrawn and hardly seemed to be listening, while Mercy seemed content to do whatever she wanted regardless of what Joan said.

[Gifted]

"You can say that again." Vivian grumbled, but the thought didn't seem to please her. Victor was curious as to what was up with Francis, and so was a little distracted. Mariah, however, didn't care and was chiming in with her suggestions. Hazel also seemed to be willing to help.

"I didn't ask her here to get her to check Kenny, I asked her here to prove a point." I answered. I chanced a look up at her. "Notice anything odd?" Considering how hard I've been trying to help you lot, my intentions better freaking read as pure I thought.

[Raven]

"Nope," Lynn said.

[Gifted]

I raised an eyebrow. "Okay, whatever." I buried my face again. "All the most stubborn characters, I swear to god." I mumbled to myself.

[Raven]

"Considering it's me you're talking to, I would assume you're referring to the fact that you don't want to murder us all," Lynn said. "Newsflash, we've known for years that you people are deluded into thinking you're helping us."

[Gifted]

"You figure out my riddle yet?" I shot at Raven, ignoring Lynn now.

[Raven]

"You figure out he's the right Kenny yet?" I shot back.

[Gifted]

"The blood test hasn't come back yet." I answered. I couldn't really be mad. If the response hadn't been at me I would probably have laughed.

[Raven]

"Kailen put government issue cuffs on him," I said. "We don't trust him to stay put and we can't rely on him to not spill information if he ends up on your side."
