"They haven't been trained. We've had these things for literally five minutes, what do you expect?" Aaric growled.
Kailen nodded. "I don't have any idea what the extent of mine is."
"For the record, I can throw a punch, but I don't know how my power is going to help me any in an actual battle," Ryan pointed out.

[Gifted]

"Then figure it out while I find a location, I'll be a bit! There are rooms down there for that. Straight down the hall, take your third left and it's the sixth door on the right. There're more rooms in there than there are of you. We bult it as an area for you to practice with your powers."
"I've already been doing that." Katiyana said quietly.

[Raven]

"Let's go. What are your powers?" Aaric asked, heading downstairs again. Ryan followed him, but Kailen frowned at Xander. He didn't like how this was going.

[Gifted]

"I'm an elemental. I do all forms of water, but I've been using ice recently. The practical applications in combat are rather obvious and I wanted to work on precision so... so I redecorated my room. Would you like to see?"

[Raven]

"I would," Kailen interjected, finally following them, curious as to what the ice room would look like.

Katiyana led them to her room and opened the door.
The room had started out bare and uninteresting like everyone elses, but Katiyana had put a ton of work in and it was nearly unrecognizable. The ice had crept up the walls and fused into the bluish color was a great heart that covered one wall, an outline of white ice on the blue. A chandelier hung overhead, stuck to ice on the ceiling, a thousand delicate icicles glittering in the light, dripping water onto the carpet as they melted. a large, crude ice sculpture of what might've been an angel stood in the corner. It was impressive for the first time, but she'd only managed to make obvious changes. The chandelier was not delicate or complex, but merely an arrangement of icicles, and the angel had little detail, most noticeable on the wings, face and hands.

[Raven]

"This is pretty impressive," Ryan said, looking everything over. It wasn't detailed, but none of the rest of them had even used their powers.
"But it's not the same as fighting with it," Aaric pointed out, looking the four of them over. "And dropping five teenagers with no training into a possible battle zone isn't something I wanted to hear they do. Let's go find those rooms." He turned and walked out.

"Well he did say they tried sending backup before and it was a disaster," Kat didn't sound worried at all.
"That makes it worse!" Zoey said nervously. "How can the be so incompetent that they weren't the slightest bit of use in helping us fight?"

[Raven]

"Or they aren't incompetent, and our enemy is better at fighting than they say," Kailen said. "That makes more sense." He started towards the training rooms.

Katiyana followed after re-freezing her dripping work, and Zoey was right behind Kailen.

[Raven]

Aaric tried to get ahead of Kailen, while Ryan followed slightly behind Katiyana. Aaric opened the door to the first room. "I feel like we should all see what the others can do first," he said.

[Gifted]

Katiyana nodded. Assuming her demonstration in her room was sufficient, she looked to one of the boys to start.

[Raven]

Kailen stepped forward. "I would stay back, I don't have any idea how powerful this will be." He put his hand in his pocket, putting in his ear buds as he unpaused his music and faced one of the dummies. He snapped his fingers and a blast of sound went out, hitting the dummy and the wall behind it and ricocheting. Kailen swore, trying to stop the wave that was now bouncing around the room.

"Woah!" Zoey stepped back a moment, but then remembered she had a shield now. It was her job to rush headlong into danger and protect the others. "Move!" She ran to the front and pushed Kailen aside as the blast was coming at them. In front of all of them, she put up a shield, a blue curved barrier as tall as she was. One arm fixed as if to hold it in place, and one hand protecting her head since she wasn't positive this'd work, she nonetheless was able to withstand the full force of the attack behind her barrier.

Kailen took a deep breath. "Thanks," he said, laying down on the floor.
