Isobel barely heard him. She hugged him as tightly as she could, crying on his shoulder, just so, so happy he had come. "Oh Ben! You're home!" She sobbed

Ben smiled sadly and held her tight. His eyes started to overflow as he thought about the sister he'd left at his home. He was so glad he could help this girl... But would he ever get back to her and his other friends? Would he be stuck in this world that hated him forever?

It was heart crushing to know this wasn't the same brother, that nothing had really been fixed. But Isobel decided she didn't care. She as ust going to spend what little precious time she had left with this amazing brother of hers, a gift she would never receive again. She didn't care how much it would hurt later when he was gone again. She needed him, and he was here. "That's okay... I'm so glad you came..."

"Please Ben, I don't want to talk about it!" Isobel said a little more firmly. Thinking about what she would do after he left meant admitting to herself he was going to leave again... and that he was never coming back once he did. Couldn't she just pretend she had her brother back for one day? It was so much easier to pretend.
