The Stereotypical Evil Overlord Role Play

Francis pulled Josh's arm around his shoulders. "Just don't put weight on it," he recommended, trying to help him forward.
"Let's go," Rory said, picking up Flare.

Josh nodded. "Sorry guys." He said quietly.
"Aw, don't apologize!" Gabriel said with a grin. "Not like we managed much better. Francis woulda probably done better if he had a weapon or two. Probably shouldn't have come straight from school." He laughed.

Scarlett nodded and picked up Liolu.
Amber nodded, glared at the little band of idiots one last time, and they turned to leave and get Flare to the hospital.

Meanwhile Joan made it to the bar. The adrenaline had made it out of her system by now and she was surprisingly drained from the fight. "Gosh, I'm out of shape." She laughed as she attempted to get her breath back, leaning against a wall for support. "Guess that happens after fifteen years."

Ben smiled slightly. He was clearly taking it better, though his usually-slight limp had become more pronounced. He wasn't exhausted, at least. "Yeah, you'll have to start working on that," he said.

"There's no point in apologizing. Just work to get better," Francis said.

"You should get some water for those burns. And we need to get stuff to bandage the others too." Joan said, thinking. "Do you have cash on you?"

Once they'd dropped Flare off for medical treatment, Ruby called the palace to report what'd happened.

"I might have a bit, but I don't usually come into cities," Ben said.

Kenny answered the phone, as he always did for someone as important as Ruby. "Yes, Villein?"

"Here, wait outside. I'll go get Joan and Ben and we can figure out something to do with Josh's leg," Francis said, entering the bar.

[Gifted]

"I have some, just people don't like seeing me in their stores." Joan said quickly. Then she saw Francis at the door and stood up. "That's them." She headed out.

"We lost." Ruby said through gritted teeth. "...It appears Wenkeling has changed her position."

[Raven]

"Oh, is that so? We'll have to fix that... How are you?" Kenny asked.

Francis went to Joan rather than to Ben, showing that clearly he respected her more than he had. "Josh is losing a lot of blood."

"I'll be okay. Family's just got to recuperate. She caught us off guard." Ruby told him.

Joan handed him most of the money she had left on her. "Take this. Go into a store and buy a first aid kit, extra bandages, food and a lot of water." She commanded.

[Raven]

Ben nodded and hurried off. He entered a store down the block he thought would have such things, and quickly found them, then he went to the register.

"Understood. Will you need time off?"

[Gifted]

Though Francis had never before seen the large coins Joan had given him, he numbers were neatly engraved into the center so it was easy for him to pay the correct amount. He spent about three quarters of what she'd given him getting everything plus enough water to both treat wounds and ration out for a couple days to drink.

"I'll be back in two days at the very very latest. Joan made a fool out of me. And I don't forgive that easily." She snarled. "Rory, Amber and Kumair made it out okay to keep working if you want them too. Everyone else needs to see a doctor."

[Raven]

"Understood. I await your return," Kenny said.

Francis hurried back. "Let's get somewhere more private."

[Gifted]

"Thank you, oh gracious Supreme leader. I will contact you when I am battle-ready again. Until then." She hung up with a sigh.

Joan nodded and led them out into the field where they'd cornered her earlier and into the trees, choosing not to acknowledge to Ben that this was the spot where the last rebellion began to fail. "They say these trees are patrolled, but I haven't seen much of it myself. We should be safe here for half an hour while we treat your wounds."

Ben's jaw clenched at the sight of the place. Why did she come back here, of all places? Why the hell would she want to be in this place
Francis helped Josh sit down. "Are either of you two any good at this?" he asked. He was decent himself, but as they had been in a war, he figured they were possibly better. He grabbed a bottle of water.

"I'm decent but I'm no medic." Jon sad, seeming completely oblivious to Ben. "Water'll help with the burns, especially yours." She nodded to Francis. "As for your leg, we're just going to have to try to stop the bleeding." She addressed Josh with a frown.

"I guess with it bleeding as badly as it is, we probably don't need to wash it, huh?" Francis asked. "Should we just bandage it....?"
