Joan knew they really had no choice as of now. She refused to take her eyes off Rory but she put her hand on Bens arm, who was closest. "Guys," She said in an undertone, even though she knew most of them couldn't hear her. If she shouted, she'd sound afraid. "Guys, stop."

Ben's eyes narrowed, but he didn't move, and he turned off his power. Francis, on the other hand, grabbed Amber by the hair. "Yeah, right. We have the advantage here. You let him go, and I won't kill her." He glared. "What do you think of that, little boy?" Rory asked Josh in a whisper, resting the flat edge of his knife on Josh's chest with the tip touching the soft spot between two ribs. It wouldn't be a quick death. He'd either bleed to death or drown in his own blood from the puncture to his lung.

Josh looked too terrified to speak. Joan, however, spoke coldly, turning her head ever so slightly to look at Francis. "Let her go. You need to learn when to press your luck." Amber didn't seem the least bit concerned about being 'taken hostage'. She was still in nearly top form and could easily fight her way away from this idiot with no weapons. Dumbass couldn't even figure out how to properly hold a hostage, even with Rory giving such an eloquent demonstration. Joan spoke again, this time to Rory. "Name your precise terms."

Francis looked pissed, but he finally listened to her and let Amber go.
Rory smirked. "You're to put down all of your weapons, and walk away with your hands on your hips. You make any move, Wenkeling, and I pierce his lung. You are only to walk a block. I keep him until we're away, then I'll leave him, unharmed.

"No deal. I have no proof you'll do as you say." Joan replied. "You kill him, and we can at the very least retaliate with harming the youngest, you cannot tell me I'm not in a position to refuse. I am willing to and over the weapons and allow you all to leave peacefully, but I refuse to let you walk off with our friend with naught but your word we will get him back." She said this in a cold, carefully calculated tone. Rick had always been much better at negotiation, but at this point she had to get all her troops out of this alive and not brainwashed.

"The problem, Wenkeling, is the weapons you can't put down," Rory reminded her. "And you don't exactly have much time - he's going to die whether I cut him or not if you don't do something."

There has to be some sort of compromise here She thought to herself. I am the only one of all of us whom is a problem here.... wait. No, no that doesn't work either, I don't trust he'll give the right key... fuck I need time that I don't have. "I am perfectly willing to remain frozen or even leave... by myself. They, however, need to see you are doing exactly as you're promised and there isn't anything funny going on." Here she shot a look at Ruby. "If you would like me to leave the vicinity alone I am more than happy to oblige you."

Rory shrugged. "Take Belacqua with you," he said.

She didn't have any more time to debate this even, so though she hated it and it was plain on her face she said "Fine."She turned to the other there and said "Don't you dare fuck this up. We'll be at the bar you found me at last time."

"See you soon," Francis said, glaring at the smirking Rory. Ben sighed and went to leave, before Rory spoke, "Leave your weapons, remember?" Ben's eyes narrowed. Weapons weren't exactly easy to come by, his weapon even less so. No one thought about stealing cables, but no one really had them, either. They weren't necessary to have in hand, and the only way to get one was to get at the electrical cables used for power in the cities. Then he would have to find some way to cut it before he got killed from the current, or caught by the authorities. The only bright side would be the possible uprisings from power shortages. Rory pressed the knife harder to Josh, but didn't cut him. Ben looked pissed as he dropped his cable on the ground, then turned to walk away.

Joan felt bad for Ben, but didn't turn back. She headed out of the area, listening intently for any sign Rory was going to break his word.

Ben followed her angrily, Rory watched them, then handed Josh off to Kumair. He went to check on his mother and sister, to make sure Joan hadn't hurt them too much.

"I'm... I'm okay. Check on Flare.' Ruby assured her eldest son. Scarlett was already at Flares side. She shook her head as Rory came over. "She isn't responding no matter what stimulus I give her. She's got a pulse, but she'll be out for awhile. Just give them back their stupid boy so we can get her medical attention."

"I will," Rory said, and went to pick up all the weapons Joan and Ben had put down, then he nodded at Kumair. Kumair cut Josh, then let him go. It wasn't a deep cut. "Run along," Rory ordered, glaring. He desperately wanted to slit their throats, but he couldn't spend satisfactory time on all of them with them all there. Besides, he didn't want to get on Wenkeling's bad side.

Josh stumbled forward, not waning to put too much pressure on his bad leg. Gabriel caught him and helped him support his weight. He hoped Joan would know what to do for his blood soaked leg, because he was already worried about the severity of the injury.
