"Hufflepuff is where everyone who doesn't fit in anywhere else goes, Andrea. You don't want to be there. And I get the sense you don't know much more than Liz does. 'Slytherin sounds cool.' Are you muggle-born?" Lynn laughed slightly.

Andrea sighed. "Half blood, but I live in an orphanage, both my parents are dead. So mom never got to tell me much," She sighed. "And like I said, I'm good with whatever. I tend to make myself fit in."

[Raven]

"Well, no matter where you go, you won't fit in. There will always be someone who hates you. I'm going to be in Slytherin. Like my family. But my brother's in Gryffindor, so it can't be that bad," Lynn said.

[Gifted]

"Psh, maybe I fit in in such a way that everyone hates, me, as long as I fit in" She shrugged. "At the orphanage I had my own little gang and everyone hated us. You think that meant we didn't get our way?"

[FoxTrott]

"You don't have to fit in to be a good student," Liz spoke up, wedging herself into the conversation.

[Raven]

"That's not fitting in, that's getting your way. Good luck with that at Hogwarts. The headmaster doesn't let anyone get their way, the schedules are impossible to remember, and you don't have any kind of way to manipulate seventeen-year-olds into not bullying you," Ryan replied. "You're a first year, you aren't gonna get your way."

[FoxTrott]

"The only way you'll get," Eric said, ruffling Liz's hair, "Is a way to not get bullied. Because you have this" he whipped out his wand in a heroic pose "to protect you! Fourth year magic, oh yeah." He waved his wand in a vague manner.

Andrea laughed. "No That's true, Liz. But you do if you want any say in what goes on. If you want influence." Then, she turned to Ryan. "And it's not like I'm going after top of the food chain. Thats not going to happen. I want to be indespensible. There's a difference." She sighed irratibly, looking out the window and ignoring Ercs antics. "Do you guys know how much longer until we get there? And where we're supposed to get changed into our robes once we do?"

[Raven]

"We change on the train. It's gonna be a few hours. The snack cart hasn't even reached us yet. And what do you mean indispensable?" Ryan asked.

"Speaking of snacks, I'm starving." Eric leaned back in his seat and dug through his pockets, hoping there was some sort of candy left in them. All he found was lint and old wrappers, which definitely weren't edible. Liz quieted, listening to Andrea.

"Well look at it this way," Andrea sighed, irritated that she even had to explain. "There's a hirarchy of students at the school, right? Some groups of kids have more influence than others. Most people have to work really hard just to stay at the top. But there's always that one kid/. Maybe she ccan do something nobody else can, Maybe the teachers like her better and she can weasel anyone out of anything. Maybe it's just she's the best friend of the person with the most influence, or knows how to keep her mouth shut. But she's the one who's role is never questioned, who's position of popularity is never challenged. There's no competition for them, they just sit there and do their thing. That's where I want to be. I don't need to run anything.In fact, I'd rather not, they'd have the biggest target on their back as anyone. I want to be the one always on the inside."

[Sar]

"Uhm..." August looked at the trolley and said "No thank you," August looked at the twin then to the girls "I was packed with some money for the trolley, if you two want it. My mother always forgets I can't eat sweets,"

[Raven]

"It depends on your house, kid," Ryan said. "Where you stand, that is. But no matter what, you'll be at the bottom somewhere, and not so bottom within your house."
"Either way, you don't know anything about the wizard world, you'll have to have connections to make it far," Lynn said, smiling.

"You can't eat sweets?" Violet asked.

[Sar]

"Nope!" August said "We don't know why but whenever I do I get ill. I mean it's not to bad, just sick for a day, but it's rather miserable." She let out a sigh but then added "I used to use it at school on test days, I'd eat a sweet, get sick, and go home,"

Nikki smiled. "Thanks. I've never tried any wizard sweetas before... did you say they had gum?"


"Oh it's not like Muggle gum, you probably don't want to be chewing it in an enclosed space." Tanner said as Wesley paid for their swets.
"Oh alright... Just um... A Chocolate frog and... are those jellybeans?" She pointed at the cart.
"Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans. Literally every flavour." Tanner said. "Though I swear they put more grass flavoured ones than normal into there, just to annoy you."
Nikki smiled. "Ok, just one of those then please."
