"This is really pissing me off!" MAry said, turning back and running down the 'Hell' hallway, all the while thinking well considering I'm already in hell...

The two outter hallways met and merged into one. The barking was growing closer as she came to a door. If she tested it, it was unlocked.

Mary tested it, but wasn't going to be nearly so careless as she was before. Ready to move away from the viciousdogs or whatever at a moments notice, she unlocked the door and peered inside.

There was a pedistal at the far end of the room, other than that it was empty.

SHe gingerly tested the floor in front of her, and walked closer aand closer to the pedestal, making sure to test the floor on each step so it did not cave in on her.

She reached the pedestal safely. ((did she shut the door behind her?))

((Yes, she's not stupid, she can't move backwards so there would be no point in leaving it open.))
She examined the pedstal and room, looking for the exit and fully expecting the walls to come up and rabid angry dogs to appear.

Nothing happened. There was a book on the pedistal and written on the page it was opened to was, "To pass, you must solve the riddles."

"On the floor behind you are eleven sticks. Turn eleven to nine without removing any sticks," read the first riddle.

"That's easy," Mary grinned. She turned, and set the 11 sticks in such a way that they made the shape of the number 9. "I'm not an imbecile Tabitha,"

The next riddle read, "On your way to the fair, you pass two jugglers with a bear and three cats. Each cat has a mouse and each mouse has a spouse. On each mouse, there are two fleas. Each flea has four larvae. How many are definitely at the fair when you arrive?"

"Oh please, that's an old one," May said. "None, if I passed them they were going the other way. and for the record, you didn't tell the riddle right. You have to say the preformers were coming TOWARDS you otherwise theres a loophole. If I didn't already know the joke it'd be unanswerable,"

"alright, fine. Let's say they're all going to the fair... The smallest number..." She closed her eyes. "Two jugglers with a bear and three cats. Thats five... Each cat has a mouse, which makes eight, and ech mouse has a spouse.. but it's spouse could be onbe of the other mice that the cats have! so assuming one mouse doesn't have two sopouses the minum there could be here would be four mice, which would make 12... There are two fleas per mouse which adds eight more for a total of 20... each flea has four larvae, but it would need two parents, so we assume the larvae belongs to both parents there would be only four larvae per mouse, which means I add 16." She opened her eyes and grinned. "The absolute minimum number going to the fair would be 36,"
