"Wolves like food, not money," I said, walking into the center of the town and spinning slowly around. The cloud cover obscuring the moon thinned for just a moment, illuminating my blonde hair. The moonlight just as quickly faded. None of this stopped me from looking around, or even put me on pause. I turned to face Vickas again. "I don't think it's worth our time to search the place."

I shrugged and walked over to her," Like I said whatever you decide is fine by me."

A somewhat fit wolf pawed at a pile of lumber, and barked. A few other wolves ran over to it, and tried to dig something out from under the pile. They snarled and snapped, eventually dragging a limp figure out. It looked like a humanoid wearing a ragged robe. It tried to crawl away before the wolves could reach it. One wolf tore a bit of its robe off, revealing pale skin with blisters and bleeding sores.

I stared in disgust. "Let's go while the wolves are sidetracked," I muttered, turning to leave.

I nodded and followed close behind her, both hands on my sword in case we ran into trouble.

I continued to follow the path in total silence, trying to make sure Vickas didn't wonder off the wrong way.

"Help!" the humanoid managed to cry, "He--"
It was cut off by a swift bite to the neck. The wolves immediately converged on the corpse, and devoured it with shocking ferocity.
Violet led Vickas along the wagon tracks. They walked for a while, an occasional howl puncturing the ghostly silence.
(( Quick! Reflex saving throw! It's against a trap, so Violet gets +11 instead of +10. ))

Violet tripped over a rope strung between two trees, triggering a net hidden amongst the underbrush. It snapped up into the air, and would've held the two if they hadn't dived out of the way fast enough. The night was at peace once again.

(( Took you long enough. ;D ))
"What're you doing here?"
Unheard and unnoticed, an elf had sneaked behind Vickas and Violet. Bowstrings were drawn taut, revealing the presence of at least three archers nearby. The elf that had spoken was holding a dagger to Vickas' neck, and another had slid in front of Violet, holding a longsword.

((^^; I forgot x3)) I tensed. "We are on a mission to rid ourselves of the disease. We have no foul intentions towards you, your people, or these woods," I said evenly. I cast a sidelong glance at Vickas.

Vickas looked around, he was used to blades being at his throat by now, he looked over to Violet and let her do the talking.
