Appearance: Long, wavy black hair, bright red lips, a slight blush painted on each cheek. Very old-fashioned black and white dress, white stockings and black shoes.
Personality: Generous, understanding and giving. Tries to do the right thing. Extremely kind. Looks about 6ish when brought to life.

Name: Darrien
Appearance: Wears flat, grey hat atop his blonde hair. Wears old fashioned overalls and stiff white shirt. Simmilar shoes to Claressa. Lips painted into an almost pouty look, and chubby cheeks. Bright blue eyes. Looks about 6ish when brought to life.
Personality: Adventurous and a risk-taker, happy and willing to work. Very obedient and always wants to try new things. Eager to please.

Pros/Cons: Maverick himself is very weak, easily killed. However his dolls can withstand anything short of complete destruction. They are forced to obey his commands, so don’t count on Claressa’s kind nature or Darrien’s boredom to bail you out.

2. Name: Xander “Hangman” Xcavier
Age: 16
Power: Can take up to two powers at a time from others and use them to their highest potential. Others can still use their own powers as he’s using them. His default powers when he starts a rp are fire and the weather
Appearance: Thick blond hair and baby-blue eyes, with hard, serious lines etched into his features. He wears a long black trench coat with the collar folded up to protect his neck (trench coat is bulletproof) and always dons his mask before an attack. (mask is not bulletproof)
Pros/Cons: Amazing leader and extremely logical thinker, very experienced fighter. Tends to blame injuries and deaths of others on himself and can be very, very hard on himself. In love with Sharie, friendly rivalry with Alex.

Power: Creates an invisible whip that causes serious damage to opponents when it connects. Can sever an arm if it wraps around.

Pros/Cons: Dedicated, loyal helper. Very experienced fighter. Sister to Eloise and Xanders dedicated second-in-command.

4. Name: Olive Valente

Power: Healing and Super Speed
Appearance: Hispanic skin tone, with brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and brown eyes. Sporty build.
Pros/Cons: Loyal to Xander, but liable to sway if persuaded well enough. Extremely determined at all she sets out to do.

5. Name: Adrian Wright
Age: 15
Power: All manner of poisons. Can mix and match poisons with the vessels that carry them.
Appearance: Red hair, a ton of freckles, and an easygoing grin. Playful blue eyes.
Pros/Cons: Adrian’s a bit of a practical joker, but is easy to be around. Very loyal to Xander and will be serious during a fight (but never anytime else)

Power: His blood will gouge through whatever it comes in contact with when he snaps.

Pros/Cons: Extremely strategic thinker, brains that rival Xanders. Tons of fighting experience. Massive ego.

Appearance: Slight build, mouse brown hair and brown eyes. Gold-rimmed glasses and a shy smile.
Pros/Cons: Very shy and quiet, no courage to stand up for herself, but will follow orders and is invaluable as a healer. Loyal to Alex. Sharies sister.

8. Name: Ariel “Supernova” Dekoto
Age: 14
Power: She can explode, causing catastrophic damage. However her power must be charged to work, and she lights up slowly when she’s charging, giving her opponents a clear visual marker.
Appearance: African American girl with her hair in cornrows around her face. Dark brown, almost black eyes.
Pros/Cons: Dedicated fighter and loyal to Alex. Sister of Pierces but is currently fighting with him. Pretty much incapacitated while charging her power.

Age: 16
Power: Can create anything to do with superstition. Black cats, ladders, mirrors, etc.
Pros/Cons: Appears crazily loyal to Alex, but really could change sides on a whim. Easygoing and always smiling. No morals, though he tries to hide that too. Much smarter than he makes himself look.

Pros/Cons: Tough as nails and super experienced fighter, trains daily. Best friend with Rachel. Super depressive, and no fun to be around. Deathly serious and can’t take a joke.
History: Linia’s father was a Celestial who left her on earth without a family. She grew up in an orphanage, where she befriended Rachel and learned about her Celestial powers. Though initially she scared the people at the orphanage, eventually with Rachel’s prodding she managed to overcome the other children’s fear and become very popular. When the battles began, Linia’s father came back to get her and gave her her power. He doesn’t care about or love her, all he cares about is her winning, and he trains her relentlessly every day. She’s the only known Celestial to ever actually lose a star (She used to be an eight star, and you’re not supposed to lose stars, they’re supposed to remain with you once you pass their tests.) because she no longer enjoys her life and no longer enjoys her powers.

Celestial: No
Appearance: Wavy, flowing blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, porcelain white skin... and cuts and scars from battles over almost every inch of her face and arms. It’s easy to see she was beautiful once (Think Marilyn before Rachel got battle-scarred) but her scars have done a number on her, and are easily her most striking feature.
Pros/Cons: Ever the optimist and an amazing fighter. Great friends with Linia. Not much of a team player, but will do it if she has to. Tends to put herself and Linia above others.
History: Grew up in an orphanage with Linia,helping the Celestial get over her differences with the others and becoming Linias best friend. Soon after Linia left, Rachel was approached by her candidate and eagerly accepted the power when she learned about the Talent of Blank. She loves her fights and she and Linia have been fighting together ever since they met up again.

12. Name: Joan Wenkeling
Age: 13
Power: Telekinesis. She can pick up anything with her mind as long as it’s not welded down like a lamppost, tree or building, and it is not herself.
Appearance: Since she is the youngest she is shorter than the others. She had thick, wavy brown hair and trusting green eyes. She is most often seen wearing simple, nondescript jeans and a green wool turtleneck sweater.
Pros/Cons: She is the youngest one there, she only just turned 13. She’s smarter than all the others in the original 8, as well as more agile than everyone except Pierce, is an amazing actress and has extremely high pain tolerance. However, her biggest flaw lies in where she got all these talents: its government training. They do not really trust her that much anymore and it would be very easy to turn them against her. She still wears her watch from her days in the government, and can communicate with anyone with it via cell phone as well as get internet access if she encounters something unfamiliar to her. Her brother is Nicholas, but she wouldn’t go crazy if he was caught or anything, she was taught by the government to never let anyone use anything against you.
History: Joan and her brother Nicholas were kicked out by their parents at a young age and traveled until they made it to a Gifted town. On Joans ninth birthday, the town was raided by agents and everyone but Nicholas –who was over the hill washing clothes in a stream- was captured. Joan, a terrified nine year old, was given two choices; join the government, or be imprisoned like the rest of them and most likely die. She agreed to join them and worked for the government until her thirteenth birthday, on which she broke the entire original eight – whom she’d just captured – from their prison.

Appearance: Short black hair that always falls into her face, dark green eyes, wears a black tee-shirt with large white skull-and-crossbones on it and stone washed, light-coloured ripped jeans.

Daemons favourite form: A Silver/grey wolf
Pros/Cons: She and her daemon are both surprisingly good at acting, and thanks to the fact she hasn’t hit puberty yet and her hairstyle, she could easily pass as a boy. If she wants to spy on people, this is a useful tactic. She has Ruby to contend with, so she’s requested that she be locked up every Friday. Ruby and Colsheen don’t like this at all, and have attempted to break out several times before someone can get in there to talk her down. She has kept the fact that Yaz is a daemon secret, making sure he is never seen. As a result, he isn’t commonly known about by enemies.

Power: Darkness
Appearance: African American boy with a dark brown buzz cut and brown, almost black eyes.
Pros/Cons: Extremely agile and great at defence, but has no offensive skills whatsoever. Doesn’t talk much if at all.

15. Name: Rakel Meusemore
Age: 18
Powers: Fire, Earth, and The Weather. Pretty straightforward. Earth just means plants; she has no control over rocks or Earthquakes.
Appearance: Short red hair that always falls in her face, blue-green eyes, wears a white tank top with small brown dots all over it and red, white and blue flowers at the bottom. The tank top ties to her neck, leaving her shoulders bare. She wears a jean skirt that goes to just above her knees. (Me in my fave shirt)
Pros/Cons: She’s the leader, which makes her an obvious target. However, she’s a great one, and her three powers give her a distinct advantage. She knew Domenic before the whole Gifted fiasco even started –he was her mother’s best friends son.

16. Name: Nicole Jedetta
Age: 16
Power: Energy manipulator. She manipulates energy waves around her into a shiny blue matter, which she can bend to her will. Though she cannot make anything larger than her own body, she can shoot it as a projectile, use it as a NEARLY unbreakable shield, or hop onto her own disc and fly around on it.
Appearance: She is extremely muscular, with long straggly blond hair. She has sharp, cold blue eyes that dared you to challenge her. She wears pretty much the same shirt as Nicholas, a faded blue muscle shirt. However, her pants are actually skin-tight, tan pants
Pros/Cons: She is louder and more obnoxious than everyone else on the team. Nobody really likes her attitude or her hot temper. Though this would usually be an obvious indicator that you could turn her against the rest of the team, you might not be able too.
History: A member of the original eight, when it became obvious there was a spy in the group she was the one who was suspected, simply because of her nasty attitude. However, she put up with it, and one night she managed to hear Joan speaking to her superior via her government watch while everyone else was asleep. Nicole made her accusation the next morning, but clever Joan managed to turn the tables and make everyone believe Nicole was the government agent. They insisted Nicole leave, and she did. The very next day, Joan turned on the others and threw them into a government helicopter. Nicole, who’d been following them silently, suspecting this would happen, made a valiant rescue attempt, but Joan was just too strong for her. Now second-guessing her could cause problems in the group.

17. Name: Nicholas Wenkeling
Age: 15
Powers: Water and Telekinesis. Unlike his sister, he can support himself with his powers and use them to fly.
Appearance: He is a handsome boyish blond with blue eyes. He is 15, almost 16, and is clad in a classic surfers outfit. He wears a faded blue muscle shirt, khaki shorts, and a short necklace with a shark tooth dangling from it.
Pros/Cons: He looks at every angle of a situation, using his powers together to gain an advantage over fire-users. He loves his little sister more than anything, and would go crazy if she was captured. He is a very kind person and the one who never loses his head in a heated argument. You’ll never catch Nicholas yelling, and everyone likes him.

18. Name: Noah Swenkle
Age: 15
Powers: Sand. His sand power allows him to change his appearance as well.
Appearance: Like I said it can change at will, but he is normally a shorter boy with sandy blond hair and hard blue eyes. In this form he is seen wearing a red T-shirt and nondescript brown pants.
Pros/Cons: Noah is a quiet, determined individual. His power to change his appearance makes him a natural spy, and he isn’t usually expected to yell or get angry. However, when he does, there’s no way to calm him down.

19. Name: Domenic Hazardmen
Age: 16
Power: Fire. He has taught himself to fly with his fire, something none of my other fire gifted can do.
Appearance: Short brown hair, a quirky, freckled face that looks totally different and sunnier when he smiles. Wears a black shirt with “Quicksilver,” on it, and slightly baggy jeans.
Pros/Cons: Not much you can say about his intellect, nothing really jumps out. He’s pretty average. He and Rakel knew each other since before the gifted fiasco –she was his mothers’ best friends’ kid. He’s a very focused fighter, using interesting and sometimes crafty ways to win.

20. Name: Devon Tse
Age: 17
Power: She can turn into a ghost at will, and is invisible when a ghost. While a ghost, she can speak to other ghosts.
Appearance: Chubby and short, with wavy, dyed black hair and a gothic looking sweater. Green eyes.
Pros/Cons: Though many of my characters are anti-social, she is the only one who actively avoids conversation, preferring to talk to the dead than the living. Generally fights with only a knife and is absurdly hard to kill, given that she can pop in and out of the physical world whenever she wants.

21. Name: Tyler Winslake
Age: 29
Appearance: Well put together businessman with neatly combed brown hair and a plain black suit. Light blue eyes.
Pros/Cons: Manipulative genius, he uses secrets and lies to make things go his way. If you catch him early he’s relitivley easy to beat... leave him too long, and he becomes next to impossible.

22. Name: September
Age: 15
Appearance: short, bristly brown hair and a permanent frown. Hazel eyes.
Pros/Cons: The last surviving member of Year, watching his friends die has hardened him beyond caring. He is ruthless and remorseless in battle, but resents being told what to do.

They woke up in a room alone with their team (or "team" if you're the spies)

The spies woke up first.

Maverick had been thrown in here offically as punishment for betraying the government. Thiss was a false charge, but it didn't take a genius to figure out the truth; people were afraid of him. He had stayed in his dark room, with nothing but his large collection of dolls to keep him company. His skin was pale and he looked emaciated. His glasses looked too big for his face. He looked around, registering they'd been nice enough to leave him his two favourite dolls for the game. His hands moved to curl around Claressa and Darriens tiny wrists.
After a long minute he moved slowly and rose to his feet. He walked over to a screen on the back wall. He looked when he noticed another, familliar man approaching the screen as well.

This man, Tyler Winslake, couldn't be more different than Maverick. He was wearing a black suit with a black-and green striped tie. He looked healthy and strong, and his hair was neatly combed. A confident smile spread over his features when he recognised Maverick. Unlike him, Tyler had chosen to be a part of this game by choice. After catching Joan Wenkeling and her little friends, he'd craved a bigger challenge. "How many dolls they give you, Maverick?"

"Two," Mavericks quiet voice was barely audible.

"That bites, normally you play with six or more. By the way, I don't know you, ok?" Tyler gave a cocky smile. Maverick nodded and the two turned to read the words on the screen.

Welcome!
You are currently inside the holding area of government project #031721. Shortly, you will be transported to the arena after you're taught the rules. Take care to memorise them, for it will do you good to follow every rule to the letter regardless of disposition.
Almost all the people you see around you now are your teammates. the exceptions will be explained further down the page. You will be given a bunker to use as a home base together, and will coexist with you for as long as you stay in the arena.
In a short time, you will be introduced to the other team. These people are your enemies in the game. The directive is simeple; kill them all, before they kill you.
There are some exceptions to the above rules. Mainly, the spies.
You have two spies planted in the other team. These spies know who they are, but you do not. They are there to inform you about the other team, but it is up to them to find a way to contact you without revealing themselves. There are also two in your group that are untrustworthy. Find them, or risk them telling the other team everything they need to know.
All methods of expanding you team or exterminating the other team are permitted.

But of course, each participant gets something out of this. If your team is declared the winner, you will be given a free walk out. You will not be imprisoned as a Gifted. You will be given a second chance to run.

When they finished reading, they both went back and lay on the floor, pretending to be passed out.

I've been caught. That was Lynn's first thought as she awoke in the room with all those others. Her wide eyes made it obvious she had no idea what was going on as she looked frantically around at the unconscious faces, searching for her brother. Of course, she didn't find him.

Finished reading, Gabriel turned to look around for his one team mate in this holding area. The only other wakeful person he saw was a twelve-year-old girl who looked like she was going to cry. They were screwed. "Are you okay?" he asked her.

Lynn jumped and looked up at him, finally noticing the screen and the young man. "I need my brother," she mumbled.

Gabriel sighed. "Hey, I'll take care of you, okay? Come read this." He pointed at the screen.

Lynn came to read the message. "We're... spies?" she whispers.

"Looks like it. Lay down and act like you're asleep," Gabriel instructed, doing so himself. Lynn followed suit.

Kitty was the first to wake. She sat up suddenly, looking around, then held her head because she'd sat up too fast. She looked around. Then Kumair slowly stood up. Ryan opened his eyes. Slowly they all began to wake.

Rakel groaned, raising her hands to her eyes, her mind still fogged by sleep.
Joan, however, sat bolt upright in a second. "That treachorous snake!" She punched the wall in frustration when she realised where she must be. Then, abruptly, she seemed to shrink a little, fighting back tears. "It's my fault... I knew how Tyler operated and still... no, Joan calm down" She took a deep breath to steady herself. She wouldn't lose her head in a crisis. "Think.... does your power work again?" She turned and looked around. After seeing her friends, she used her telekinesis to gently push them, to see if they'd wake and to make sure her power worked. Satisfied it did indeed work again, she began to get to her feet when Rakel opened her eyes.
"Ugh... what the... where are we?" She looked over and spotted Joan. "Joan."
"Honestly? If I had to guess, we're locked in a government holding area." Joan replied, looking around. "Your powers work?"
"Oh yeah... Tyler betrayed us..." Rakel sat up and lit a flame on her finger. "Well... now you know how we felt"

The works struck Joan like a blow to the chest. She didn't answer.

Rakel went over to Dominic and gently shook his shoulder. "Dominic? Dominic?" She looked up at Joan. "Go... wake up your brother or something." she snapped, glaring at Joan with contempt.
Joan obidiently went to go try to rouse Nicholas as the others around them began waking up.


Tyler pretended to wake up right around the middle, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

Lynn sat up when she heard them begin to start talking and watched them uncertainly, remaining silent.

Kumair came over to look at the screen, but barely looked at it before he cast a glare at it and went to wait for someone else to read it. He wasn't going to try to decipher the words. It was like trying to read Greek for him his dyslexia was so bad. It wasn't long, though, before Ryan quieted everyone and read the message aloud. "So it seems like we'll need to fight," he said, wondering where Lynn was. Gabriella sat on her father's lap. Kenny held her close. He couldn't believe that they were going through this.

Gradually, everyone woke up. Linia ignored everyone, going up to read the words. "Listen to this," She raised her voice so everyone could hear and read the woords aloud. As she did, her heart sank. Great. Another fight.



"If that's the case, we should find out each others powers now, rather than later," Maverick said.

[Raven]

Lynn looked up at them. "What now?" she asked. Gabriel kept his mouth shut, just in case he did something that might not work out.

Ryan turned to look at him. "Says who? There are two spies, that would just be giving them some of the biggest information they could need," he snapped.

"Well, if they expect us to work together, we should at least get to know each other," Rachel said with a smile. "At least our names. I'm Rachel!"


"How are we expected to fight with one another if we cannot play off each others stregnths? It doesn't sound like much of a team." Maverick said simply

"Gabriel," was the only thing Gabriel said. He didn't want to slip up and say something he shouldn't.

"Yes, well, not all of us are a team," Ryan shot back.

One by one, everyone said their names. September was last.
"Doesn't matter," he muttered.

"That's doesn't seem like the greatest long term strategy." Maverick said, but made no further comment.

Ryan glared. "Neither does alerting the other team what we can do."

Cristel, after remembering what Linia said about the spies, started checking peoples minds to see what people were thinking, hoping to gain a clue.
Xander was checking every single person's powers with his own. Cristel hoped he wasn't the spy, because then they were screwed. His group was gathering tightly around him.
September was just anxious to start, he didn't care for any of them. He was a loner, which made him an obvious threat to Cristel. He didn't have anyone he cared about being killed if he defected.
That Eloise girl was scrutinizing every person while trying to look like she wasn't. Smart girl. She and several others were gathering around Alex, who was thinking.
Linia and Rachel were together. Two spies, and they were the only group of two close you each other... interesting. She went to the last wo she hadn't checked yet.

Maverick didn't object, knowing it was unwise to push the issue, but he still thought it was stupid. They weren't going to find the spies any time soon, so why bother? It was only going to hurt them when they were planning attack strategy.

Lynn was wondering if she'd ever see Ryan again, she was too frightened to think of much anything else. Meanwhile, Gabriel was listening to some of the others talk.

Kenny looked up. "As dangerous as the spies ay be, it's stupid to not tell each other our powers. The spies could know either way, and at least then we would know how to fight the other team," he pointed out. "I can see and manipulate memories."

Ryan? Cristel catalogged that piece of information away for later use, including what Ryan looked like. She wanted to see if he was on the other team.

"That was my point." Maverick nodded. "I animate dolls." He held up Darrien for all to see, but if they didn't see Claressa, well, that wasn't his problem. "Whatever I throw them into, they'll survive it."
