Ryan scowled. Toby spoke up instead for both he and his partner-in-crime. "Ryan here is a little vampire. He can shapeshift if he bites you. I can use all your powers, holding two at a time. Have to choose beforehand," he explained.

Tyler smiled. "Well, then I can help all you guys out. I'm a power enhancer. My effect lasts about twenty minutes, and works on everyone,"

Katia looked up at Tyler. "I knew someone like you," she stated. "My power is to control people's nerves."

Just then a panel slid open in the wall. The words "MEET YOUR COMPETITORS" flashed once on it before it slid back to reveal a chain link fence that went from floor to ceiling, behind which was the other team.

Linia wondered if it was cheating if she could attack them through the barrier. Mash would do the job and they would all get out of there just fine.

Lynn looked at the other faces and found her brother almost immediately. Just as Ryan found her. Neither of them acknowledged the other. Kenny looked at the other team, wondering who their spies were but not daring look. It didn't matter. Twenty-two people's lives depended on Gabby dying. Another twenty-two could mistake them as spies. His single job here was to be a father, not a fighter.

Cristel immeaditley scanned the thoughts of those on the other team. She was shocked when she came accross Kenny, and momentarly let it show on her face before realising that wasn't a good idea. So she forced her face into an indifferent mask and continued flipping through different peoples minds.
Linia nodded at anyone who made eye contact with her but showed no emotion. Emotion was a weakness on the battlefield, her father had always drilled into her. You can be emotional later, around friends and allies. Not in front of enemies.
Joan's worried look changed to a cool stare when she saw him. "Tyler."


Tyler surveyed the team, and liked what he saw. Hangman, Executioner, and Wenkeling... This was gonna be fun.
Oh yeah. Except Wenkeling hated him now. Huh.
"Calm down, girl, you want your shot at me you can have it now," he laughed.
"Who said I was mad?"
"Hiding it like a good girl, that's right, but you're out of practice. I can read you like an open book,"

Joans expression turned into a scowl.

Gabriel stepped up to the fence and looked around at his teammates, trying to focus his mind on wondering who the spies were so it seemed like he was wondering who was on his team rather than who wasn't.

Ryan moved forward. "It's too bad we meet on such bad terms," he said loudly enough for everyone to hear.

Rakel nodded curtly at Ryan, but said nothing.

In the brief silence, Gabriella's voice traveled farther than it should have, "Daddy, are those bad people?"

Everyone but Maverick and September looked. To Maverick it was unimportant, and September didn't care.

Though Kenny's voice would not be heard, the thought was all Gabby needed. "Then why do they want to hurt each other?"

Cristel heard Kenny's voice in Gabriellas head and was shocked. So they had a mind reader too, did they? That was good to know.
The walls around them seemed to dissolve and suddenly they were standing on the grass outside in the sunlight. There was a stone bunker behind them that was much larger and more comfortable than it looked from the outside. This would be their base for as long as they were there.

"Let's get inside," Ryan said to the team.

Tyler nodded and smiled, going inside immeaditley.
There was enough food there to keep the team alive for two weeks, working electricity, a stove and fridge, A large dining table that could seat about twelve, and a comfortable room for everyone

Kumair crossed to the fridge to inspect the food they had.
