"I know, but it means you guys won't be in as much danger," Kat replied, glancing up at Rhyme. Then she looked up at Seven, startled. "What? Seven, I know you're usually good at guessing what people are thinking and feeling, but I'm pretty sure there isn't anything else." She took Rhyme's hand, since it was already blown.

[Gifted]

Seven frowned. She wasn't giving off any of the usual signals that showed she was lying. This made it even more confusing. "Well, that I don't believe," he muttered, but dropped the subject.

[Rachel]

Velvet frowned, slightly confused. So, now Rhyme and Kat were together...? Slow down, she thought, you're going way too fast for me..,
A smile played at the corners of her mouth. "But you will be," she pointed out to Kat. "Surely there's another reason...?"

[Raven]

That really confused Kat. "I will be what?" she asked. "And what do you mean? Another reason for what?"

[Rachel]

"You'll be in more danger. There must be another reason why you want to go by yourself, rather than another of us... and if you're concerned about Rhyme, then someone else can go public... any number of us," Velvet said with a shrug. "That's all..." She paused. "I'm sorry. You don't have to answer." She stared at the ground, a slight blush creeping into her cheeks.

[Raven]

Kat blushed as well. "I'm worried about Rhyme, but you guys have become my friends. I'm confident Kira won't find my name, even if he or she does see my face. Unless, of course, Kira traded for the eyes," she answered. "No one outside this room knows my real name. Not even Sai."

[Rachel]

Velvet nodded, wincing slightly at the mention of Sai's name. "I understand," she muttered. "Just... whatever you do, stay safe. I'm going to go back to my room... I think that Silk will be worried." She stepped off the wall, pausing as she reached for the doorknob. "You don't need me do you?"

Seven bit his lip. well that was a rather obvious hint. Rhyme knew Cats name. Possibly Cat knew Rhymes. But was that really it? No, it didn't make sense with the signals he'd been getting before he'd mentioned it. It was something.... something to do with the case.
His eyes, which he had closed to help himself think, flashed open. That was it! They were keeping some aspect of the case that they knew and everyone else did not from them.
He turned and started typing furiously into a word doccument, glad no one could see him unless they came up behind him.
"Well, if thats all," Teale said nervously. she wanted to be alone with Seven and figure out what was flying through his head.

[Rachel]

Velvet nodded again and opened the door, shutting it quietly behind her. The whole Kat and Rhyme thing was so sudden, especially seeing how upset she was just that morning, a few hours ago. It had something to do with Sai... it must've.
Her bare feet padded silently along the floor as she made her way to her room. She glanced down at the skirt as she reached their door, but shrugged. There would be some excuse...
Velvet knocked on the door but opened it without waiting for an answer. Silk was on her bed and looked furious as Velvet entered the room.
"Where have you been? I've been so worried!" Silk hissed as Velvet shut the door and collapsed onto her own bed.
"I-I needed time to think," she replied absently.
"Is that my skirt?" Silk asked her, standing up and going over to her roommate. "It is... why didn't you ask?"
"I didn't think you'd mind," Velvet said before rolling over and showing that she didn't want to talk anymore.

[Raven]

Kat nodded. She was sure Seven had figured out that Rhyme knew her name, but she was confused as to why he seemed to know something else. "C'mmon, Rhyme," she said, standing.

When they were back in their own room, Kat hugged Rhyme. "You know who Kira is, don't you?" she asked in a whisper.

Rhyme stayed silent for most of the conversation, as he was thinking. Thinking about Kat. Thinking about Kira. Thinking about what Seven was thinking about. He nodded goodbye to everyone, and walked out behind Kat.

Once they were back in their room, Rhyme responded, "I have my ideas." After a moment, he whispered, "It's Sai. That's why you left and came back depressed today. He told you he's Kira. And now, everybody has their suspicions about what we're up to... Did you see the look in Seven's eyes?" He let go of Kat, sighed, and flopped down on the bed.

"We're screwed," he stated in a 'Well, this sucks' tone.

[Raven]

Kat nodded. "That's why I'm even more confident that I need to be spokes person. I'm sure he won't kill me." She paused then went on, even more quietly, "I feel like I'm using his feelings to my advantage. Either way, I'm keeping his secret. When they find out, then he'll be caught... And if they ask, you never knew. They'll know I knew..."

[FoxTrott]

"It's just..." Rhyme sighed once more. "It feels like we're morally obligated to do something about it... About knowing who Kira is, that is. If we don't do anything, he could kill hundreds, even thousands, and it would be our fault..." He rested his head in his hands. "And, if they find out you know--or knew, as the case may be--you could be in some deep trouble..."

Rhyme looked up from his pathetic posture with his head in his hands at Kat. "We need to figure out something as a cover. Something we know about the case that they don't, like a common trend in the killings, or some 'shinigami love apples' type thing, so that when they ask what we're hiding, we can say that."

[Raven]

"And when Seven senses something else? Who says it's in our best interest to lie? I don't think he'll bring it up again. Although, if he does, I guess it could be a good idea. Any idea where to start?" Kat inquired.

[FoxTrott]

"Well, it's not in our best interest to tell the truth, either," Rhyme replied, frowning. He took up a thinking posture. "Hmm..." After a few moments, he said, "I'm drawing a blank, admittedly. Do you have any ideas, Kat?"
