Velvet's eyes widened but she nodded, looking up at Kat. "I see..." she said softly, rubbing her arm. 'Kira is back?'
"How did you work out that that's what they'll spell?" This intrigued Velvet. Unless there had been something on the news, how could she have known?

"Well, what other message can YOU think of that has ten letters? In the previous case Kira wrote a message to L as well, so why not this time?" Kat replied. Crap, she thought, I just made myself look guilty.

(well, I've gone back and edited plenty of posts, I don't see why you cant o the same. But I don't wanna turn this intoo some sort of argument. And I had a second point but I forgot it. *faceplam*)
"Ten simeltaneous deaths and five of them had obvious letters.I'm fairly sure Kats right about this, but of course I can always get seven to hack into the poilice databases and check,"
Seven smirked "Thought you didn't approve of my hacking?"
"I do when it helps us solve a case," but she bit her lip, not at Seven hacking, but at Kats comment. If Kat was going to sliip something like that that drew suspicion onto her so easily, theres no telling what information she was sharing with her boyfriend. What if he was a Kira supporter?

Kat nodded. "Okay... I wish we had some idea of who we were looking for... Do we even really have any idea as to Kira's location yet?" she asked.

Blue sighed. "Unfortunatley, no. At this point he could be just about anywhere. Seven did the research on the first guy we suspected of being killed by Kira and found that he was being laughed about all over the world. His total control just another way to poke fun at the incopetence of the police," she sighed, saying the last part distastefully. The peopl wanted so called justice, but they laughed at the so called good people and demanded they be better. What was "better" anyways? It wasn't.

Kat sighed. "That's what I thought... Now what? Do we try to get permission to try something like what L did?"

Blue shook her head. "Absolutley not. For one, I doubt Kira'd fall for the same trick twice. I know it obviously can't be the same Kira, but everyone saw that part or have heard stories about it. And two, I think we'll make more progress if Kira doesn't find out we're looking for him. Though the killings were obviously supposed to bring international police attention, since the last Kira investigation, the co-operation between different police forces has dropped dramatically, I wouldn't be surprised if nobody noticed,"

Kat nodded ruefully. "I figured... Even still, L believed the only way to catch Kira was to get close to him."

"Near didn't get close to him at all, and look who ended up surviving," Blue pointed out. Seven sighed at the untactfulness of his sister.

"He was in contact with him almost constantly! And besides, he had all of L's notes to go off of," Kat argued. "If it means we'll get closer to solving the case, I'll volunteer to be spokesperson. I'm confident in the safety of my name unless they have the eyes, and even if they do they'll have to see my face."

"Not really he kept his distance as much as possible, compared to L who met kira IN PERSON and lived with him for a couple YEARS," she sighed. "I think we should make as much progress as we can without letting Kira know we're onto him. If its neccessary later, it's neccessary leter," she sighed.
