[FoxTrott]

Fox made a noise similar to "nyeehh" and followed Raven at a close distance. She didn't want to be sent home, but she also wasn't about to let the matter drop. She stepped so that she was right in front of Raven, and grabbed her shoulders. "We're talking about it," she said with uncharacterstic seriousness.

[Raven]

Raven glared. "No, we aren't. I'll get the guards if I have to, Fox. Let me go."

[FoxTrott]

"Why are you being so stubborn?" Fox asked, scowling, "Why can't you realize that you've friends that care about you? I don't give a damn about guards, but I do give one hell of a damn about you!" And martinis, but at this rate, I'm never getting a drink.

[Raven]

"Because I love him! And I know he would never hurt me!" Tears formed in the corners of Raven's eyes, despite the small lie. "Please, Fox, just stop."

[Gifted]

"Fox, it's fine." I said calmly, before stepping up to Raven and looking her right in the eye. "The next person who even mentions it goes home? Fine then, I'll go home. I've got to go back eventually, and I can hear Cristel stalking us, and after thinking about it, I've figured out why. Therefore, the only reason I might've stayed is a bad idea." I raised my voice. "Am I right?"
Cristel came out of her hiding place, knowing she was found. "Exactly right."
"That's what I thought. I can't give youb any info on Emric because then he'll know how much you know. Therefore, I have no reason to stay here. But think about this, Raven. I never once said Adam didn't love you. I never said it had been Kenny all along. In fact I said the opposite, that they'd been swapped within the last few months. In case you can't take the next logical step in that, it means you're not the only one quite possibly in danger, here." I turned my back on Raven and Fox. "Have a nice party," I spat, and walked off.

[Raven]

"Gifted!" Raven called. "I-I didn't mean it. Come back."

[Gifted]

I didn't even look back. Raven wouldn't listen. But actiopns speak louder than words, and I hoped this would make her hear.
Well, this would be how I ended up justifying it later. In the moment I was just to pissed off to look back.

[FoxTrott]

Fox, still staring Raven down, motioned to the departing Gifted. "See?" she began, "That's how much Gifted cares. She'd rather tell you to your face than let everything slide by and you get hurt. Raven, we're not going to sit around singing kumbiyah or some shit while your 'fiancee' is planning to do god knows what to you!" Her voice rose gradually as she spoke, to the point she was shouting at the end.

[Raven]

Raven flinched, the words like a slap, she walked past Fox, her eyes downcast. "And what would you have me do? Hmm?" She looked up at Fox. "Even if Gifted and the mind readers are right, he can just erase the memory. Her leaving did no good whatsoever."

[FoxTrott]

Fox watched Raven walk right past her, a dull ache taking place in her heart. "You could stay and me with Crow," she suggested, her voice at its normal tone, "where you'd be safe..."

[Raven]

"And how would that work? I'm Ravonia's leader, Fox, and I can't just leave. And if I gave any warning, he'd change my memories. If I didn't, knowing Kenny, he'd claim I was Ravennapped."

[FoxTrott]

"You can too just leave when you're in danger!" Fox insisted, stamping her foot stubbornly.

[Raven]

"Fox, it wouldn't work. It would only get him to start a war with Talesworth, and become allies with Emric," Raven said. "Talesworth would end up just like Forli."

[FoxTrott]

"Then what else do you want to do?!" a very frustrated Fox growled.

[Raven]

"I want to go to my party and act like there's nothing wrong, because there is nothing I can do about it!" Raven snapped.
