"If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. We're not all going to stay here simply because I'm chained up," Adam said. "But they don't exactly open the door, there's a flap at the bottom. This is one of the cells they used for the gifteds who went berserk before the explosion, they could hardly allow the gifteds to have the advantage of an open door."

"...well that complicates things." Kayla sighed. "hm.... do you guys have anything it your pockets still, or did they clean you out before putting you in here?" She checked her own pockets as she said this.

Fox glanced towards the door, thinking. She looked back at Kayla and shyly drew the decorated dagger from her pocket. The seal of Forli was still on the hilt. "For emergencies," she explained.

[Raven]

"Not sure," Adam answered, sitting up straighter so he could reach his hands into his pockets one at a time. "Nothing, but that knife will definitely help." He nodded to Fox.

Kayla smiled and nodded. "Let's see, I've got... an old pocket knife, some papers I was going to show raven to prove my identity that I really should've just burned, and some steel wool. Don't ask me why I have steel wool in my pocket, it's rather a long story." She smiled

Adam glanced at Fox, still dressed for the wedding and looked like he'd just been told that he had minutes to live. "Do you have a bobby pin in your hair by any chance?" he asked, almost hopefully.

[FoxTrott]

Fox looked at her dagger for a long minute before handing it to Adam. He could do more with it than she could. "Too bad, I'm asking anyway," she smirked, "Why do you have steel wool in your pocket?" She nodded at Adam and pulled a pin out of her hair, handing it to him as well.

"What am i gonna do with a knife?" Adam asked, taking both items regardless and beginning to try to, unsuccessfully, pick the lock on the chains.

Kayla smirked at the question but did not answer. The truth was she'd planned on taking a raft or rowboat out of the country and trying to make it somewhere else. She'd thought she needed steel wool to make fire because she lacked matches. But Fox didn't need to know about her stupid ideas.
