"Hey," Ryan greeted. "I'm glad you're safe."

"Yeah, not for their lack of trying. Bunch of assholes." Natalia did have a few new scratches, but nothing serious. "Who just takes one look at someone and tries to murder them?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," Ryan said, shaking his head.

"Speaking of people trying to kill us without provocation." Amy said. "What happened at the city, Natalia? I thought you were breaking through the wall." Natalia scowled. "I can't. The damn thing isn't concrete, it's made of stone brick. Who builds walls out brick anymore!?"

"You know, she obviously wanted nothing to do with us. I really doubt future us just let this happen," Raven pointed out.

"You think that was against us specifically?" Amy asked, intrigued by the theory. "Natalia, can most other Magnetism users manipulate stone?" "Some can, but it's not standard." Natalia said. "Just like my metal, it's an uncommon and difficult to master trick. But it's not like there's no one who can do it either."

"It does make some sense," Ryan allowed. "We don't exactly know a ton of other Magnetic mages. And while that's defensible against us, it stands to reason there would probably be other people who, with the time and ability to go undetected, could pull down the wall."

"So what, you're saying that us beating her isn't possible?" Natalia said skeptically. "According to your theory we've had years to figure it out as stronger versions of ourselves and she's still terrorizing people."

"I don't know," Ryan said. "Maybe we need extra help?" "Maybe future us is dead already," Raven suggested. "She builds the city, we die in a fight, her city keeps standing and we're pulled here to finish what we started."

"But future us would have been more powerful than us now! How in the hell would that help?" Natalia pointed out.

Raven shrugged. "Maybe it wasn't her who did it, we don't know.

"You just said you thought the wall was specifically about us!"

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean we couldn't have caught the plague or something," Raven said.

Amy snorted. "You know the plague can be cured with basic antibiotics, right?"

"Can it? That's cool I guess. But the point still stands. Just because she built a wall to keep us out doesn't mean she killed us. Or maybe we got unlucky," Raven said. "Or we fell out of practice!"
