Black River

[Gifted]

"Six months, and nah. Never even met the guy. Got found in the shed of a safehouse where I was trying to sleep. Some girl named Olivia brought me here. You?"

[Raven]

"I was almost caught but Xander's people rescued me and brought me here," Colin said, eyes bright with admiration. "My sister too!"

[Gifted]

"That's awesome, man. What was he like?" Rick asked in awe.

[Raven]

"Kinda nice, he was a really great fighter," Colin said. "He can use two powers at a time! That's like, the most cool thing ever, especially since he's really good at them. He took on like five agents at once!"
"Colin, are you going on about Xander again?" a stout girl not much younger than them slipped up next to them. Though Colin was an excitable beanpole, most of the pair's other features were very similar, from the color of their hair to the shape of their noses.

"It's okay, I got him started." Rick laughed. "Hey there. I'm Rick! What's your name?"

[Raven]

"Piper," she said.
"This is my sister," Colin said. "She's kinda quiet but she's great. And she's super smart." He laughed.

[Gifted]

"Well hey, nice to meet you Piper! Colin here was just going to show me all the cool stuff I don't get to see in the official tour."

[Raven]

"I think you're a bit too big to visit most of the really cool stuff," Piper said, her tone neutral.

[Gifted]

"Hey, I can try." Rick said, not wanting to ruin the mood. "Colin's up for it, right?" He looked to Colin.

[Raven]

"Definitely! And there's totally some cool stuff you can get to in human form," Colin said, nudging Piper.
She crossed her arms and reluctantly said, "Yeah, I guess one or two. Have you seen the lake yet?"

[Gifted]

"No, not yet. Lake?" Rick asked interestedly.

[Raven]

"Yeah!" Colin said. "Come on, it's just down the hill." He headed through the thin band of trees to the grassy slope. A dark lake shimmered in reflected sunlight at the bottom, the mountain rising sharply behind it.
"We call it the Black Lake," Piper said, seeming a little bit more pleasant as she joked. "You know, since the school is called Black River, but there's no river, and we're all kinda magic."

[Gifted]

Rick laughed. "I like it." He said. "Suits the place."

[Raven]

"It's nice to come out here and read, especially in the summer," Piper said.
"Or play games," Colin added.

[Gifted]

"Yeah, I bet you get a lot of people swimming, too." Rick agreed.
