"We won't do that," Sangria said. "But we need to know what kinds of things might help."

[Gifted]

"Electrocuted... until I stopped... or blacked out." Rook managed to force out.

[Raven]

Sangria rubbed his shoulder. "Did they have any way to stop the pain in your head?"

[Gifted]

"Why the fuck would they care?" He pointed out.

[Raven]

"Fair point," Sangria said. "Does it fade after time?"

[Gifted]

"Eventually." He answered.

[Raven]

She nodded, knocking on Viette's door loudly.

[Gifted]

Professor Viette answered the door of the first aid classroom and looked alarmed when she saw the state Rook was in. But she kept her cool. "Come on, let's get him in here. What happened?" She asked Sangria.

[Raven]

"Apparently when he uses his abilities, whatever those fuckers did to him is painful," Sangria said.

[Gifted]

Viette nodded grimly. She knew well enough the lasting effect being captured could have on people. "Let's get him on the bed." She and Sangria put Rook onto a cot in the back of her room and Viette grabbed a first aid kit, but at least externally, there seemed to be nothing wrong with him. The moment he was placed onto his back Rook pushed them away, clenching his eyes shut and throwing up his arms defensively to keep them away from his face. "Rook, it's alright. We're not going to hurt you, we need to see you to help you." Viette told him sympathetically. "Katrina, can you come here when you have a moment?"

Sangria backed away, knowing she wasn't needed right at the bedside any longer.
Katrina nodded, standing up to come see if she could help him. "Rook," she said gently. "It's okay." She touched his arm gently.

Though the lights in Rook's face were the only evidence outside, Katrina could feel the extreme damage that had been done to him. A large portion of his skull had been removed and replaced with a metal plate screwed in that still mostly protected him but was a draw for electricity and could be removed at will. sensors and wires had been threaded throughout his braon, down his face and into his eyes. Many of the connection points had heavy scar tissue from repeated electrical burns and it was apparent where the pain was coming from; the system that enhanced his powers had been installed poorly and with little regard for Rook's safety, and was regularly overheating when Rook used it - which occurred when he used his power whether he wanted it to turn on or not. Electrocuting him would in fact, work to shut it down some of the time... by entirely short circuiting the system and briefly turning it off. Unfortunately it seemed to charge via his bloodflow similar to hydroelectricity, so it would not stay inoperable for long. The electricity buildup also occasionally hurt him, and if the touched one of the places on his face where his skin seemed cracked and the light shone through she would receive a mild static shock.

Katrina's expression darkened as she realized what she was looking at. She gently touched the marks, ignoring the shock she received, beginning to try to draw out the heat and reduce any swelling.

She managed to make some of the swelling g down, and remove some scar tissue that was making it more painful than it had to be as well as cure some burns that were setting in, but as the wires were mechanical there wasn't much she could do about them. Still, it seemed to help somewhat and she saw Rook relax, blink and look up, less defensive as he tried to figure out how they got the pain to recede.

"Do you remember me?" Katrina asked gently.
