Rook sighed. "A letter was left in King's gym locker for the lot of us. Said it was from Ms. Houston, but obviously it was forged. Said she'd bought something cool we would like, but she hadn't cleared it with you yet so she couldn't bring it in the school. Told us we'd get to see it if we met her at lunch up the hill about half a mile out. She'd been talking about buying a roulette wheel for a while now, so we all figured that was what she had to show us. So we meet up, grab lunch, and hike up the hill.
'Bout a dozen agents were waiting for us. Even with my pawns, we couldn't even those odds. Ended up losing consciousness.
Awoke in that godforsaken hole of a cell. We were all in a line, but in different cells. Then the experiments started." His gaze was ice cold. "Some kind of operation or injection. Anesthetic depended on if they needed to knock you out or not. If not, you weren't important enough. I would sit there in the cell and I would listen to them scream."
