"Hey Kenny?" Xander's tone was urgent. "I have a guy on the line demanding your number. He says he'll only speak to you or one of the other teachers and he won't tell me anything. He said to tell you it's Rook? That's all I could get out of him."

"Who is this?" The voice was rough, pained. It sounded both angry and panicked, and he heard the person on the other line moving and twitching like they felt anxious being in one place. The man pulled the receiver away from his face. "Kid, are you keeping watch??" Kenny heard him snap.
A very faint, much higher voice replied to him. "Yeah! I'm watching!"
He addressed Kenny again. "It's Rook. Who is this?!"
