Tang rolled her eyes. "Guess I'm not one to talk about lying anyway." She muttered, and headed back to the welcome ceremony.
The team building went almost as perfectly as Fuchsia planned. "This team picked the Queen of Diamonds. May I present Team GRAF. Grill Ashen, Roux Altan, Albion Blake, and Fuchsia Alexandrite, led by team leader Gri Ashen."
Fuchsia'so heart dropped. No way. The little tagalong got leader over her?! Something was going to have to be done about this.
Gri seemed just as surprised as Fuchsia. "Me?" Her expression was torn between shock and confusion. Gri hadn't been leader on her last team - that honour had gone to her tactically gifted ex best friend, Teal. Was she really on that level?

A few more teams were called, and then, "Up next is the team that chose the Knave of Spades. Welcome to team TOXN. Tang Orange, Opal Skobeloff, Xanthene Blaine, and Nisha Lonan, led by Xanthene Blaine."
Nisha glanced at Opal and grinned before heading onto the stage.
Xanthene was a bit surprised, as well - she wasn't sure she considered herself 'leader' material.

"Sounds fun!" Opal agreed. "Oh, Nisha, this is my partner Xanthene. Xanthene, this is Nisha and that's Tang."
"Nice ta meetcha Xanthene. Congrats on getting the leader position." Tang told her. She was glad she hadn't gotten it. She didn't need to draw any more attention here.
