"That's not what I meant, Kailen. Of course you aren't about to up and leave on purpose."

"Oh," Kailen realized, and nodded. "I'll come back."

They did their watch in the near silence, and then woke the next shift up when midnight came around. Stephanie insisted on Kailen being the one to wake Clara, because she didn't want any contact with her aunt.

Kailen shook her shoulder slightly, and Clara grabbed his wrist before eyeing him and sitting up. "Sorry. You scared me." "No problem," Kailen said, rubbing his wrist. "It's your watch." "Thanks," Clara said. "sorry again." She got up and headed to go do just that.

"You ready to go?" Stephanie looked at him. "I don't think Mia is watching."

That morning when Kailen woke up (since you absolutely refuse to provide me with a post for that, apparently) he heard voices outside. "This building is totally off the grid. We won't be heard in here." "Really?" A skeptical voice asked. THe original voice sounded familiar. "It's not as safe as a ruin, but if I was seen in a ruin my family would talk. This is the best we're going to get."

Kailen blinked in confusion and got up, pressing close to the wall as he crept closer to the voices, keeping carefully out of sight. Was that...?

Stephanie was standing outside the doorway to Kailens warehouse with a dirty, angry looking woman wearing an overly large coat that clearly had to be concealing a weapon in the ludicrous heat it currently was outside. The coat in question was a beige trenchcoat with no tapers or anything remotely flattering to her figure. "Come on," Stephanie said, gesturing to the warehouse. "Alright fine. If it's the best we can do." The angry woman led the way, heading inside.

Kailen paused time and hid as best he could before resuming, listening to their conversation. What was going on here?

Stephanie sat with the woman inside. "What's all this about? You said information?" The angry woman snapped. "Yeah. It's just I... well I know what you are. I heard you with your leader earlier. That is who you were talking too, yeah?" The woman's eyes narrowed. Stephanie backtracked a bit. "Oh don't worry you weren't super obvious, I've just been trained in this sort of thing... anyway, you were mentioning to them you had a hard time figuring out what he knew and what he was thinking. You meant Rook, didn't you? You're looking for information on Rook?" The woman looked like she was going to deny it, but instead she pulled her weapon. "Alright then fine. Yes, I'm a rebel member, and you're not going to breathe a word about what you've heard today." "Why would I approach you like this unless I want to offer help? If you were going to be turned in to Flare I would have done it already. I know a lot about them; I have enough access to get you all the info you'll ever need." The girl was torn between irritation and confusion. "Who are you?" "I... well, I'd tell you, but I'm afraid you'll shoot me when I do." She blushed. When the girl just narrowed her eyes more, Stephanie admitted it. "I'm Cody Clark's daughter, Stephanie Clark." For a moment, the rebel girl actually looked like she might shoot Stephanie. But then she put the gun away. Stephanie looked relieved. "Look, you don't have to give me contact information now. I'll give you my e-mail, a bit of information, and once ou see it's not faulty we can go from there, alright?" "...I don't have a problem with that." Stephanie spilled information on what her family was doing for five to ten minutes, then said "Shoot, I ran out of time, I'm supposed to meet someone... contact me if you want more, alright? Bye!" And ran out the oor. The woman frowned at the paper on which she'd written Stephanie's e-mail, stuffed it in her pocket and walked out the door.

Kailen watched for a moment, then paused time and went after Stephanie. Once he'd caught up, he followed her at a distance once more. It was interesting, seeing her like this. Was she really helping the rebels? From what he'd heard from her, he doubted it.

Stephanie scurried through the streets, trying not to attract attention as she hurried to the place she was supposed to meet Flare. It surprised her when a teenager younger than her was the one waiting for her instead. "Austin! What are you doing here, I thought you were busy..." she said, looking down. She didn't want to tell Austin she'd messed up.

Austin smirked at her. "Yes, well, Flare was more busy. Good thing I came, too. I doubt Flare takes well to being kept waiting - but you'd know better than me," he said.
