Ryan was submerged in what appeared to be a large fish tank, but when he saw Xander come in, he lifted himself out and the water began to drain. "Hey," he greeted.

Xander put his sheath aside and raised his fists for quick skirmish. "Alright, let's see what you can do."

Ryan raised his fists and faced him, waiting to see if Xander would make the first move. As they paired off, it was clear that Ryan had spent significant amounts of time practicing and was particularly good at getting out of holds.

Xander kept it up until they'd both gotten a few good shots in, but he didn't want to injure his soldier before they went into battle. He backed out after a few minutes. "You're impressive. If anything, for now I would work on your dodging - if you get fire or such thrown at you blocking may not work so well. At least until you get a firm handle on your power. For now I'd say you're fairly advanced on everything else."
