Abigail believed him, because what incentive would he have to lie? But it was such an enormous miracle. She'd seen addicts out on the street back home, and she couldn't even imagine this clean and put together man being like them. And Kenny had saved him, just like that? How was that possible? The wonder and amazement in her eyes were unmistakable. She could barely speak. "How...?"

"That's crazy.." But she didn't entirely disbelieve him. She just wanted it to sound not crazy. She believed everything else about this man, it didn't feel right to start doubting him now.
