[Raven]

Erin looked confused. "Alright, sure. What is it?"

[Gifted]

"Well, the truth is, I don't think Agent Gifted told you all much about me. It's not something I wanted thrown about. But I'm here because I swore I'd be a better person. I used to... I was... you know what this is stupid. Forget I said anything."

[Raven]

"Vivian, it's okay," Erin said. "What did you want to say?"

[Gifted]

"I wasn't exactly what you'd call a good person when I was younger." Vivian said.

[Raven]

Erin realized what she was talking about, but wasn't sure Vivian would appreciate hearing Gifted had told Erin about her. "Do you think Francis was? All that matters is what you do moving forward," Erin assured her. "Do you want to come sit down?"

[Gifted]

"Sure." Vivian came in. "Thing is, I killed a lot of people. No real reason, honestly... but my brother he was different, what you'd call 'good', I guess. He always wanted me to change. When he died protecting me I decided it wouldn't... I don't know, I thought I should try. For his sake. But being 'moral' or whatever you want to call it doesn't exactly come naturally to me the way it does to the rest of you. I've never really 'seen' it. Like I'm missing something. Or at least I assume I'm missing something, because what happened today after Gifted was captured makes no sense to me."

[Raven]

Erin was going to point out that she was pretty sure morality didn't come to Mercy at all, and whatever morals Francis had were twisted almost beyond recognition, but Vivian kept talking. "What do you mean?" Erin asked. "Which part?"

[Gifted]

"Most of the people there are people you'd call 'good'. They've got whatever it is I haven't figured out in years. But I was told if I wanted to be better I had to stop killing people, but now even my brother seemed okay with ending lives. I don't get it. Why is this okay but me killing people isn't? What makes this different? I'm actually asking, I thought we weren't killing them because we were supposed to be 'the better people' and all that nonsense. So why can supposedly good people say they want to kill and still be called good people?"

[Raven]

"I'm not sure if I'd classify most of our team as good people, Vivian. If you asked Victor, he would probably tell you that it's different because the reason is worth it," Erin said. "I don't think it is."

[Gifted]

"By Go- Gifted only works with people she thinks are good people." Vivian said.

[Raven]

"Everyone's definition of good is different, and Gifted doesn't seem to have the highest of standards. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy spending time with Francis, he makes me feel safe, and I think his heart is in the right place, but I wouldn't necessarily call him a good person. I certainly wouldn't call Mercy that and I'm not sure about Mariah or Joan either. But even though we could be good people, and some people on the other teams probably are too, the carriers we're fighting wouldn't call us good people, and there are a lot of agents who wouldn't always say carriers are good people, even the ones who are. It depends on where you're standing," Erin said. "I'm sorry I can't give you a solid answer."

[Gifted]

Vivian sighed. "Alright. Thanks Erin. And thanks for not getting all weird and difficult to work with over this."

[Raven]

"No problem. You're trying to do better and that should be rewarded not punished. It's better than Mercy could say."

[Gifted]

"Thanks. Though as far as I cantell, being good doesn't seem to be all it's made out to be."

[Raven]

"Yeah, it's mostly in not having a guilty conscience. And good people tend to have more friends," Erin said
