The Betting Ring

[Neon]

Edrin opened it up with a delighted grin.

[Raven]

"Look to the skies," the note read.

"The betters would have to know me pretty well for that," Mia said, frowning.

Francis kissed her. "We're on the same team."

[Gifted]

Olivia laughed. "Not even close. Come on, let's see if we can't get off this cliff.

"Oh hey, what's that?" Joan grinned and grabbed the note out of the air.

[Raven]

Ben sighed. "Alright. Up seems the way to go from here," he said, clambering up the last few yards of stone without much difficulty.

"Must be your clue to your team," Katrina said.
The note read, 'Find the rapists.'

[Neon]

Eliza tried not to show how very relieved she was and just hugged him back. "Good."

Edrin looked up and saw nothing. He was very disappointed and really didn't want to stop playing on the beach, but supposed he had better go look for people. He began searching the forests, always looking up.

Nicholas shrugged. "They'd have to know us well for any of this."

[Gifted]

It only took Olivia a second or two to cimb up behind him after watching him do it. "Ok, well this is a good vantage point, but we probably ought to find an easier way down from here."

"Ok, this has to be a joke." Joan shoved the paper in her pocket. "We shouldn't stay in one place for long."

[Raven]

"I suppose you're right," Mia agreed, smiling. "I wonder who our third team mate is." But she didn't seem particularly concerned.

"Agreed. Do you want to take a look around?" Ben asked, studying the landscape ahead of them.

Katrina nodded. "Which way should we go...?" She didn't actually like the idea of moving. After all, this place was familiar.

Soon enough, Edrin saw someone moving around in the tree tops. Ryan was just coming back down to where he could go from tree to tree, rather than look over the arena.

"No idea who our third team mate is, though," Francis added, stroking her hair.

[Neon]

Eliza shrugged. "I don't care. We don't need someone we have to take care of."

Nicholas kissed her cheek and snuggled.

Edrin grinned and assumed this was the hint. "Hello my love~" he said as his better half was in hearing distance.

[Raven]

Ryan glanced down and grinned, recalling his own note - 'find you.' "Eddie, I'm so glad you're okay." He hurried down the tree and embraced his lover.

"They could help us," Francis said, but he wasn't convinced. Isobel wasn't great evidence.

[Gifted]

"Sure. Give me two minutes and I'll be back with a way down." Olivia said, and ran off. While Olivia was gone, a note fell from the sky for Ben.

"I'm not sure, I haven't seen a whole lot but trees. But staying still for too long is never a good idea. You're at a tactical disadvantage, any adversaries can use the terrain against you."

[Neon]

"Not from the evidence I've seen. I ran into a girl who tried to be cutesy with me in the hopes that I would become her best gal pal or something." she said.

Edrin hugged his Ryan. "We're on a team~" he said with a grin.

[Raven]

Ben caught it, looking to see what it said. This was probably his clue to his team.

"But if you have time to get familiar with it, wouldn't you have an advantage?" Katrina asked.

[Raven]

"I know," Ryan responded, holding him. He was glad Edrin was safe, but he'd still been hoping he wasn't involved.

"And the girl I was talking to couldn't fight," Francis said.

[Gifted]

"Yeah but if you stick to the same plot of land, so will they. And they'll decide when the first shot is fired because they can always wait and come back later, they know we'll be here. Trust me, I used to live by these principles."

The note to Ben said 'You should probably kill her before she becomes a problem for you. At the source of the wind you'll find a teammate. The other is neither male nor female. That's the hints you're getting.'

[Neon]

"Well, at least if we die we might die together." He said. Unlike Francis and Liza, he would die for Ryan gladly.

Elizavetta sighed. "I almost feel bad for them, especially if there are any serious hitters out here. They're going to get slaughtered."
