Eliza smiled and kissed him. "I see you're in this nonsense too. Damn shame for everyone else. Was it supposed to be fair?" She asked with a cocky grin, her knife not once leaving her hand.

Olivia hook her head. "I can't believe he went through that all on his own..." She felt like such a traitor. She ought to have been there for him. They were part of a team. "I'm going to find him when I get out of here. F*ck Mexico."
"Maybe you can. For now we ought to be fine though. I doubt there'll be any teams who've found each other yet and I can handle any gifted on their own."
Isobel felt awkward. At least this girl wasn't about to murder her.

"I don't think they really have anything to fear from us, Eliza," Francis said, earnestly. In all truthfulness, though he adored Eliza, if it came to choosing between his life and hers, she would be dead before she realized that was even a question.
Ben didn't question that, he just nodded. "I don't know that it will matter."
"Yeah, and we don't know yet," Katrina added, quietly.
"I wonder when our clues will come," Mia murmured, nestling into Nicholas' chest. Just then a little parachute with a note tied to it floated down through the gap in the treetops towards them. Mia gasped and stood, reaching for it.

Nicholas grabbed the note and passed it to her.
Eliza sighed. "Well then I suppose it's doing no good to anyone just wasting time screwing around and talking," she said, standing and walking into the cover of the forest, absentmindedly playing with her butterfly knife - a habit she'd developed on the streets whenever she got nervous or anxious. She knew for a fact if she wasn't on his team and he found out she would be dead before she could react. She loved him for that, as awful as it sounded.

Mia smiled and looked at it, almost going to open it before she noticed the lettering on the outside. "It's for you," she half-sang, pulling him back down so she could resume sitting on him before handing him the note.
"Isobel, are you coming?" Francis questioned, not wanting to be surprised one way or the other. Then he realized she was gone. "Guess not." He followed Eliza into the trees.
"Stuck in a battle to the death? Yeah," Ben answered.

Nicholas looked mildly amused and read the note.
Eliza walked briskly.
A note was dropped from the sky landing squarely on Francis' face. Luckily it was addressed to him.

"Keep on wishing. The girl on your team will be a little harder to get," Austin's note read.
Mia rested her head on his shoulder. "What does it say?"
Francis flinched and snatched it, pulling it open.

The note read, "I'm not actually 'catastrophically stupid'"
Nicholas looked incredibly puzzled and ripped it up before she could get a good look. "I don't know what I was expecting, but what I got was 'Paul is the Walrus, the Walrus is dead.'" he said, shaking his head. He was glad for the help but decided to have a bit of fun. "Are you a fan of the Beatles by any chance?"

A note descended from the sky towards Joan's lap.
Mia looked perplexed, nuzzling his shoulder. "I don't listen to a whole lot of music," she answered, truthfully. "I prefer reading..."
