Ben blinked. "I couldn't get away. Thank you."

She seemed a little shocked he said that. After a moment her head tilted downwards and she held her hands together like she was worried about his reaction. She said "And... Master Ben? I'm sorry I let the Wenkeling girl see me... I didn't mean too... I-I swear..."

Ben frowned. "There wasn't much of a way you could have helped me unless she saw you," he answered, realizing he shouldn't sound too grateful.

The girl was shocked and relieved Ben wasn't wasn't mad. "Thank you, master... should.. should I go downstairs and tend to the shop then? Or do you want me to do something else...?"

"Go ahead," Ben answered. "I'll be fine for now."

"Okay." The girl went to a set of stairs and took off her coat and mask and hung them on a hook. Underneath, she was wearing a light blue collared t-shirt and very short white shorts. She dared not look up or over at him as she headed downstairs.

Ben got up quickly and started to look around. He didn't dare go downstairs, since she'd said something about a shop, and he stayed well away from any windows there might be.

It was a very simple flat with six rooms. There was the living room, which was where they were, and an open floor-plan kitchen in the back. There was a bathroom near the kitchen, and on the other side of the living room was a small hallway with three doors. Two were shut.

Ben poked his head into the open one first, glancing around it.

It appeared to be the girls room. The words "Maria's room" were emblazoned on the back wall in large, black letters. There was a simple cot in the corner, with the words "Maria's bed" engraved in the headboard. There was a closet, but the only thing it had for a door was a pink curtain. "Maria's Closet" was pained in black letters above the doorframe. At the foot of the bed was a small box that said "Maria's pins - front" There was also a very small radio in the corner with headphones in it. There was a paper wrapped around the headphone cords and glued together with Marias name on it, and a sticker on the radio that also had Marias name on it. Other than that, the room was entirely empty and spotlessly clean.

Ben blinked. It seemed strange that everything was labeled, especially when obviously it was her room. Everything in it was hers, which may not have been the case except everything in there had one of the stickers. Shaking his head, he went to one of the closed doors.

Both doors were locked, but one seemed different than the other two. It was specially installed, made of some sort of metal and stained to match the walls.

Ben frowned, and rammed his shoulder against the non-metal door, hoping to break it open.

It was surprisingly loud, but he made progress after a couple hits. At least until the girl came back upstairs. "Master Ben, what are you doing? Did you lose your key?" She asked from behind him.

"Yeah," Ben answered. "It must have fallen when Wenkeling threw me." He rammed it again.
