[Gifted]

"I meant your name, but that works too." She smiled.

[Doom]

Benedict arrived shortly after Melody. He sported a black eye, which he made no effort to hide. Benedict moved away from the other students, frowning pensively as he sat in seclusion. Though his gaze was distant and unfocused, he listened to the ongoing conversation of the two nearest students, Trick and Melody.

[Raven]

"Oh. I'm Trick," he said, laughing.

[Gifted]

"Nice to meet you." Melody said, but she was distracted by the new song in the room. It was hard to discern with Simple Plan blaring in Melody's ears, so she leaned a little closer to the boy to hear better, hoping he wouldn't catch her staring at him.

[Doom]

Benedict blinked, his eyes locking with Melody's. His glazed gaze was replaced with irritation, though he only held the glare for a short moment. He relaxed in his chair, staring off into space once more.

[Gifted]

Melody immediately broke off eye contact with him and looked down at her paper. Sh'd heard something about.. Red flowers... green leaves... gosh she wasn't sure. It bothered her the song was so damn quiet.

[Doom]

Melody's sudden, if brief, interest was enough to unsettle Benedict. Though he would have liked for Trick and Melody's conversation to continue as if it hadn't been interrupted, Benedict suspected that would not be the case. Bowing his head, he discreetly eyed Trick and Melody, then probed each of their minds for any sort of apprehension or unrest that might reside within.

Melody was straining her ears, but it was impossible to hear such a soft and quiet song with Trick blaring 'Perfect' next to her, not to mention the cacophony of the innumerable other songs in the room. She'd caught enough to know it was in English and about flowers, but she'd heard so many songs in her life that that really didn't help her call to mind anything in particular. It sincerely bothered her to not be able to pin the guy down, and she was definitely agitated by this fact.

[Doom]

She's frustrated, thought Benedict. Though she was pleasantly conversing with that boy there just a second ago. Interesting. Benedict's eyes closed, and he activated his power. He focused on her persistence and agitation, dulling them. Though he had nothing against Melody, Benedict never ignored an opportunity to test the limits of his abilities. If the effects Benedict intended occurred, Melody's mind would be gradually filled with contentedness and apathy.

Melody gradually stopped straining to hear the words. She supposed as long as long as she wasn't going to be dealing with him, his song didn't particularly matter. Anyway, she could always sneak up behind him after class and listen to him there. She gradually smiled and began focusing on class rather than the mysterious boy, having no idea it was his power and not her own will that had made her stop.

[Raven]

"Melody, are you listening?" Trick asked.

[Doom]

Benedict smiled, pleased with himself for pushing Melody away. He perked up, his focus now on the class as well.

[Gifted]

"Pardon?" Melody said looking over. "Sorry, I was paying attention to the teacher."

[Raven]

"Oh, right. Sorry," Trick said. "I was just wondering if you had music with my sister."

[Gifted]

"Oh... What is your sisters name?" She asked
