"Yeah, I've noticed," Eric sighed, struggling with getting his head through his vest, "It's just weird, 'cause I'm still used to people talking about muggle things." He managed to get his head through, and carefully pulled out his long hair. "Did you know my dad makes me go to summer school now? A Catholic summer school."
Liz smiled back at Lynn in thanks. She pulled her old-looking robes out of her trunk, and couldn't wait til she got a patch on them like the Gryffindor patch Eric had.

Ryan laughed. "I'm sorry. School all year. That'd suck. Maybe I should convince your parents to let me stay at your house over the holidays. Meet them." He grinned.
"I really hope we're both in Slytherin... That would be awesome," Lynn said, quickly changing into her obviously new robes.

Eric abruptly stopped dressing when Ryan mentioned meeting his parents. "Uhh," he began, looking lost as to how to explain anything, "I only have one parent, my dad, and he's not exactly a good guy... you could probably stay, though, since he's usually off partying, leaving the house to us..."
Liz nodded, unsure if she wanted to be in Slytherin or not. She just quietly changed into her hand-me-down uniform, quite fine with using Eric's old robes. She would rather wear pants han a skirt any day.

"I could always jinx him," Ryan said. "But it isn't right for him to leave his kids all alone all the time.." He frowned, wondering why he'd never heard about this before..
"So, uh.. How have you liked the magical world so far?" Lynn asked.

"But you're not supposed to use magic on or around muggles," moaned Eric, pulling on his Gryffindor robe, "We're used to him leaving us alone, ever since he found out I was a wizard he just left us to our own devices. Better that way, in my opinion."
"I guess it's nice," Liz replied, looking down at her tie and wondering if she could change it into a bowtie, "I like the regular world more, though."

"Oh, yeah. I'm never around muggles, so I forget... We could get my dad to jinx your dad. Then we'd both be better off," Ryan schemed.
"Really? Why?" Lynn asked. "Magic makes everything so much easier."

Eric couldn't help but laugh. He adjusted his uniform slightly, as he was fully clothed. "If only that'd work," he said, smiling, "We should probably give the first years their compartment back, though."
"It's just so strange," Liz said quietly, "And it's mean how people are looked down on just because of their parents..."

Astin had changed into his robes, too. "Alright, but can I come with you?" he asked. "Eric, this is my cousin, Astin. Astin, my best friend Eric." Ryan smiled slightly.
"Well in the muggle world people are looked down on just because of the color of their skin or who they fall in love with," Lynn replied. "And most people won't look down on you, only those who are be-- Uh... Never mind..."

"Hey, kiddo," Eric greeted, ruffling Astin's hair in a friendly manner, "Pleased to meet you." He assumed Astin was also a pureblood, and was hoping he wasn't a giant bigot.
"Only those who are better than you?" Liz asked, her voice trembling slightly.

"Nice to meet you, too," Astin said. "Are you in Gryffindor, too? I want to be, and be really brave like my cousin!"
"Th-that's not what I was going to say!" Lynn lied horribly.

"Why, yes, I am in Gryffindor!" Eric exclaimed proudly, "It's not just about being brave, though. You have to be kind to others, too."
"Y-yes it was!" whined Liz, pulling her oversized robes tightly around herself.

Astin nodded, his eyes wide as he took Eric's words in. "I'm gonna be the best Gryffindor first year ever! And I'll show my dad that Gryffindor can be the best!"
"N-no it wasn't!" Lynn cried. "It wasn't, it wasn't!"

Eric's smile grew even wider. "That's the spirit, kid!" he exclaimed, holding out his hand for Astin to high-five.
Liz just whimpered and stuffed her regular clothes into her trunk.

Jenna got up slowly, groaning. "Assholes." she muttered. "I'm going to hate Hogwarts." she cred out, getting up, and going to the booth she was in before. She wasn't going to be picked on. She opened the door slowly, so they couldn't hear, then left, letting people cross the aisles. She had enemies now.

Astin slapped his hand down on Eric's, smiling. "Let's go get Lynn before we arrive," he said happily.
Lynn squished herself into a corner and began to cry.
