Mary laughd. "X marks the spot," she said, and tried to open the box.

There was nothing inside it.

"Oh f*ck you," Mary snapped irritably, slamming the box shut. she nran her finger over the X, thinking maybe it was a secret compartment.

"The sun rises where we meet... the sun rises on the horizon, the divider between land and sky, so the poem must mean where land and sky meet but..." She sighed. "When the wind blows, you will know my heart... what the heck? Well, theres more sea than sky on the earth, and the wind comes from over the sea, so maybe it meant the boundry between sea and sky, not land and sky? but that doesn't tell me anything. Maybe if I look where the lid and box meet..." theres got to be something there.

There wasn't. Tabitha debated telling her her mistake, but kept quiet for a while.

SHe couldn't find one. "Dammit, there has to be something somewhere. Maybe... wait hinges are gold right? That could be the sun..." she opened the box and looked where the top and bottom of the box met with the hinges between them.

The box looked deeper on the outside than on the inside, but that was the only notable thing about it. The hinges were silver, to match the box's dark look.

"SIlver? Oh COME ON! Can't a girl catch a break?" Mary muttered, and looked all over the box for gold, yellow or orange.

On the bottom of the box were two little people, facing away from each other. A sun was depicted between them.

"You know, maybe I shoulda got some brains and done this the first place. THe wind blows one way or the other, so..." she pressed her thumb down and slid it accross, hopefully sliding a panel open and fully expecting to find a heart in there.

The people both moved slightly when she brushed them. It was possible to turn them around.

"huh...WAIT!" SHe suddenly got it. "THe sun rises when we meet! So if I turn these two facing each other, the sun should rise and thats the compartment! Behind the sun!" SHe turned both people so they faced each other and even pushed a littleon their backs to see if they would go closer to each other.

Mary shrugged, and moved the sun up. "I knew it" she said.
