One of the many vines was cut off by Vickas' strike, but the two main vines were still intact.

The vine twisted away from Violet's slash, and tried to wrap its hands around Violet's neck. Instead, its hands grabbed thin air.

The vine's leafy hands were chopped off, falling to the base of the tree. Its vines went limp, and began to rot like the rest of the tree. The sickening smell of rot overcame the area. A crow cawed overhead, and perched atop a high tree branch, looking down at the scene.
