I pointed to the owl and spoke to Violet," DO you think it's infected?"

"Maybe... Only one way to check." I walked towards it.

The owl hooted when Violet came near. It flew off to another tree, wanting to avoid confrontation. It settled into a nook underneath a branch, and went back to sleep. It looked perfectly fine.

"Doesn't look infected," I muttered.

"It looks fine to me but...shouldn't it be infected from being in contact with the tree?"

[dice=20+1] I looked at Violet maybe it's not a new disease at all but an old one?[rand=87676113736281542182641811451510006310983198596354599377668824605]

It's the same disease everyone's been talking about. The owl is perfectly uninfected. Some magic diseases have a limit as to how much it can spread, but no natural diseases do; once it spreads, there's no stopping a natural disease. Vickas didn't notice anything odd about the tree or the surrounding area. There was a beautiful bush of blooming roses at the foot of the tree.

Violet could see that there were needles sticking out of the tree trunk, and that the beautiful bunch of roses was a sick blood bush growing out of a decomposing rabbit corpse.

I frowned. "Blood bushes," I murmured.

Standing next to her I asked," Should we investigate around her more or go somewhere else?"

"I don't know. If the owl isn't infected, maybe this bush isn't. We should look elsewhere..." I shivered.

The blood bush shuddered when Vickas moved. The corpse it was growing out of looked like it had been infected, with patches of fur still hanging onto its ghastly skeleton. The dog didn't dare go near it, and simply hung around Scary Eagle Girl and Guy Who Gives Food. He looked up at Vickas with pleading eyes, and whimpered.
