Cathy cocked her head slightly. "Why...?" she asked but did as he said, straightening up, shuffling back forward and wrapping her arms around his chest.

Hatter silently sat behind him staying almsot compeltely still and breathing normally but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him.

"Hurt?" Cathy asked him. "What is hurt? I have never heard of 'hurt' before!" She laughed but her cheer quickly subsided. "Do you 'hurt'?"

Hatter turned and examined Adam and then after about a minute he nodded and spoke," Yes, your majesty...But why did you come down here to greet us in person?"

"A bruise or cut? A cut is when you leak blood but what is a bruise?" Cathy asked him with a frown. She then looked over at Hatter. "Person?" she asked hopefully.

"A bruise is like a cut, but you don't leak. It turns a funny color and feels bad. That feeling is hurt," Tristan told her.
Adam smiled at Hatter. "Why not? You hardly look dangerous. It's something to do and if a ruler interacts with his subjects, they come to like him more, for if he does, he thinks more about them and less of himself," the king answered. His speech made it even more obvious that he was middle-aged.

Fugama appears he looks around as hes in a place where all is non-sense. his long black hair flowing in non-existent win. his trench coat expanding with the slight sound of stretching leather. he looked around an enchanted forest with bird-eating flowers he wanders down a purple path the smell of rotting carcass--even though there was none-- in the air wondering what he'll find next.

Cathy nodded, ignoring Adam. "I understand," she said to him. "So, when I fall off the person, I get a 'bruise' and I get a feeling and that it hurt? Does that happen to people too?"

"I understand..." Cathy said softly. She was silent for a moment before asking, "Where are we going?" She turned so that she gazed up at the castle and pointed. "Are we going there? Are there people there?"
